We had a teacher claled Dave Poat. To this day i'm not sure what he actually taught, but anyway.. he had some special responsibility and as such always carried a cellphone. We heard it ring one time and realised that considering how old it was, we (with our fancy new cell phones) would always be able to replicate the ring tone.

Seems rather confusing. Over here we just had 1 week study, 2 weeks exams (with study leave - so 3 weeks study leave total) then that was it... 8 week break! Maybe it's not confusing... just my interpretation of what you said.

well we usually have the tradition of going to this annual fair that a local park has.  They have concerts, rides, food, games, and on Saturday night they have fireworks.....then on Memorial Day...my mom and dad are having a picnic out at their house....so hopefully we get some good weather and NO rain!!!!

In our little town, we have what we call "Spring Fling". There are a bunch of venders in the park selling just about everything. Many people also have yard sales that day, too. I have had a few myself over the years. One of my best friends (with 2 little boys) and I have a tradition of getting together. We do the park thing and then we have a barbaque. Afterwards we watch the parade that goes right in front of the house. We have the best seats.  ;D This year, my niece and her "significant other" will be joining us. It is always fun.

Actually, Memorial Day is supposed to be in remembrance of those who lost their lives in battle for "defending our country". It is ironic that a day that is supposed to be solemn is celebrated with parades, BBQs, and the like.
