I used to think about deleting my account and re-registering just to show that post counts don't matter, but then I realized I worked too long and hard to get the posts that I have.  Plus, if I deleted my account now, I'd lose my moderator status ;D

Christ!  Do you have to take EVERYTHING as a personal insult?  I was simply stating that MY personal "posting style" is to make posts with some "substance" in them, not simply to run up my post count.  Also, my "respect" for someone is based on WHAT they post, not simply HOW MUCH they post.  It had nothing to do with you.  I'm just sick of people complaining about the inane threads (or the posts that go off topic in some other threads), then whine when they are deleted and their post count goes down.....there have also been a few members who viewed their post count like a popularity contest, when a number of their posts were simply ":)".  Almost like they had a personal quota of posts to get in each day and THAT was what their "life" revolved around.  Sorry, but I have more important things to obsess over than how many posts I've accumulated ::)

For me, I just like hitting landmarks. Breaking a thousand is an accomplishment to me. I don't use it to pull rank or anything, I just love hitting the next marker. It's like when your car hits a certain mileage. But I don't like Board Games.. it's Postwhoring you don't have to work for at all (I have to at least listen to a song or eat something before I post it. ;D).. but that's just my tastes.

It goes way beyond the decadeology.  Basically just threads about pop culture, most of which are repetitive topics that already exist in other threads, and they are plastered all over the decades section.  You have to weed though three pages of crap just to get to the good topics

Isn't this board about "pop culture"? And "discussion"? Honestly, the '00s board, other than a few "pop culture analysis" topics, is all tripe like "Oprah Says She's Not Gay." And they get more replies, the halfway decent ones (alot of them are spammy), than most other threads, which get a minimum of like, 8 replies.

I agree the whole, "Is the '80s More Like the '90s Than the '00s?", "Are the '00s Futuristic?" thing is sort of stupid, though.

Anyone who leaves the boards based on threads they don't like.......they're just messed up.

He mentioned to me a few times that he was toying with the idea of leaving the boards because those repetitive threads in the decades boards just constantly got him angry cause, well like I am sure a few of us will agree that they are stupid threads that don't really discuss anything of importance to anyone but those who start them.  I never thought he would actually delete his account though  :\'(
