There's a difference in accent through the generations where I come from. The youth use slang terms and dead common phrases, while the adults sound a bit more sophisticated.. and the old people all use really wierd words like 'cauld' (cold)...

Jiminy was banned.  He's been asked to refrain from posting pictures that he shouldn't, and he was still doing it, even as recently as this week.  The biggest reason is because he's constantly threadjacking to launch "good natured" barbs at various members.  While none of the people targeted complained directly, people were getting sick of seeing threads taken over with stuff that clearly wasn't on topic.  It's not like posting off topic in one thread was the reason, it's more like a dozen threads in the past week.  I've just had enough of it, and was sick of seeing his posts reported every other day. One member even complained they were afraid to start a new thread because they expected him to begin making fun of people in it.  Hairspray actually told me she was going to ban him, but I beat her to it.  It was a long time coming, and I probably should have done it sooner.

I hate to ban a long time member who is active here, but if he's going to work at being a nuisance, he's not really welcome.

THAT is exactley what my friends, including Jim, thought about me being SuperFreak. I love when people can get along with each other, which is why I wanted to say something in public, without starting a thread just for this topic, about how there are different levels of what I did. I am agreeing with Beth, Mark. What has been said already on the matter has already been said. Personally, I have let this whole matter lie a long time ago, you know exactly where I stand on the subject and why I feel so strongly about it - there is no witch-hunt on my part, Mark, just anger.

By going on and on about this, you are just making it worse for yourself and the people on the boards.

I'm not planning on lifting the ban.  He's been warned too much.  I really doubt there's much that can be said to change my mind. We've only made one exception to the ban rule in the past, and Jiminy was part of the reason the person got banned in the first place.

Broke his arm?  I am talking about her youngest being sick.  I didn't know one of them broke his arm. 

Crazymom is alive and well.....unfortunately, she can't say the same for her kiddos.  Yes, her youngest was sick (he's feeling better now), then her middle guy fell and broke his arm in 2 places.  The oldest is still well, but is in a baseball tourney this weekend so she was there all day yesterday.  Friday, her hubby was working from home and she couldn't get to the PC because he was working on his laptop on the desk. The oldest & hubby are at another game this morning so she thought she'd check in while they were gone before they do some running this afternoon. 8)

Anyhoo, just for the record, the ONLY posts I have ever reported were "guest" posts.  I didn't even know jiminy was gone until TODAY when I checked my pm's.  As far as my "attitude", yes, I AM a B.I.T.C.H (Babe In Total Control of Herself 8)) and if I don't like what someone has to say, I have no problem calling them on it.  I'm sorry if people don't like it, but that's how I am and I'm not going to change just to please people.  As far as I know, I have NEVER broken the rules of the forum so if people don't like what I say or how I say it, unless it's someone who "matters" (i.e. Chucky, Hairspray, my friends) that tells me I'm out of line, that's THEIR tough luck.  I've always said "if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen".

Well, him being knocked out is definitely the Benadryl....it always happens when he takes it....I'll have to look into the glandular fever thing ???

My first thought too.  My son had glandular fever then had tonsilitis.  He broke out in a rash a few days after starting the antibiotics.  I'm sure the Doctor said it was something to do with measles vacine in their system ... because the child's immune system is so compromised with glandular fever they break out in all sorts of rashes and pick up all sorts of bugs. :P

When my daughter had a reaction to amoxycillin it happened within half an hour of the dose.  The rash had all gone by the time I got to the doctors  ::).  We avoided any variant of pencillin for a few years and then tried it recently.  She's fine and didn't have any problems.

I've personally not had Glandular fever, but had to nurse my boyfriend through it. His throat was so swollen that he couldn't swallow pills, and had to take extra does of childrens syrup medicine-he was going through a bottle every 2 days. He coudn't eat, couldn't sleep and is having to take all of his university exams now this Summer to make up for everything he missed during the semster. I remeber our Valentines day consisted of me forcing him to eat his bowl of tomato soup! Oh well, all part of the job description I guess :] At least he's better now! I'm still surprised I didn't get it as I know its contagious, and I know I'm susceptable to illness after having Pnemonia when I was younger.
