I got an A on my last English paper, i got that back today  :)

On assignment from my Spanish instructor I went to the local Mexican food market. Pretty interesting. They had a taqueria inside so I had a torta while I was there. I orded totally in Spanish and actually managed it. I bought a couple of things while I was there too. It was very fun actually. And the entire time only one person stared at me(a guerro), so I just stared back, and nodded my head in the "whats up?" motion and the guy nodded back.

I think I might actually start shopping there. I love to cook and they had some great Mexican ingredients that can be difficult to find in most stores(although I have noticed more and more 'general' grocery stores are starting to carry these products). Plus its great to see places like this around so I'd like to do my part to support it. Better a more localized community business like that get my money then a larger chain, you know?

Gonna celebrate my mom's birthday.. Olive Garden was her choice.. should be good, even though I already had pasta for lunch, not knowing we we're gonna celebrate tonight. It's tomorrow, but I'll be gone on an Away Game.

I have just cleaned the shower glass door. You think that's easy? Well I don't know what the last tennant was doing here but I saw something that looked like dirt in the crevices and frames. I am guessing it's where mould has built up over time. The whole process took a whole kitchen roll to sort out!  :o  :P

Everybody, as in.. EVERYBODY in the country? A couple of houses have halloween decorations up in our neighberhood but i thought they were just a bit eccentric  :P

Today I took care of Elizabeth (She has a cold), got the kids off to school and ran errands.

Today there was a bomb threat at school. We all evacuated to the middle school across the street and were crammed into the auditorium for 2 hours. They never found anything. The stupidest thing is that the threat was written in one of the bathrooms and they  overreacted a bit. What was even stupider is that the threat was there yesterday, but no one reported it until today. Later on I went to a mall and some other stores with some people and was there for 6 hours.

Since I didn't post yesterday,  here's what I've done for the past 2 days.  Yesterday, we all went to the High School Homecoming game. My daughter was in the Junior Homecoming Court, so we went to see who won. She didn't win, but it was a fun night and she had a blast. Tonight is the Homecoming dance, so after work, I went to see my daughter get her hair done, and then went to take some pics of their group of ten friends who are all going to dinner and the dance. Then after, they're all coming here for a bonfire and a little get together. I'm sooooo tired. I'll be up pretty late then I'll probably sleep all day tomorrow! Ahhhhhhh, I'll be glad when this week is over!  :D

It has made a change today to be able to relax for a change.

Today was a sunny Sunday (weather's been good to excellent for the last weeks, which makes up for the lousy summer we had). 8)
This morning I had to pick up my sister's kids (parents are away for a couple of days, so my other sister's babysitting them) before going to church. We had dinner at my sister & brother's house (that's a common procedure) and in the afternoon we accompanied the kids to a performance they had with the choir they're singing in.
By the time they were all finished, it was about 16.15 and because of the nice weather we decided to go for a little walk in the dunes and on the beach. I don't come there very often (understatement!) but I thoroughly enjoyed myself (and so did the kids, of course!). :)

I've just finished work.  :D

Just got back from Conn. celebrating my sister's birthday. It was great. The entire family was there-which is a rarity (well, one niece was missing  :\'() but for us 6 kids plus our parents-all in the same room AND WE DIDN'T KILL EACH OTHER!!!!  :o :o :o  Unbelievable. There was a lot of dancing. The open bar was great and after about 4 (?) fuzzy navels, the last one tasted more like a screwdriver. I think the bartender mixed up the bottles. lol. Had breakfast with most of them (my brother and his crew weren't there-even though they were there last night). My feet are sore, and I am very tired. Gonna sleep great today. Next week, most of us will get together again to celebrate my mother's birthday. Not everyone will be there this time-but most.

Later after we got home, I turned on the Braves-Astros game, which remained tied at 6-all for a long time. After the 15th inning, I walked my dog, and when I came back, the game was in the 17th inning! Thank heavens the Astros won it in the 18th! ;D

I have been watching the other baseball game, but it began to look ugly in the 7th inning, when the Yankes went ahead.

Been to school this morning, had Pastoral time, then English. Came home at 11 because i've got no lessons until this afternoon. Wrote up an essay for DT this afternoon, currently sitting writing this reply, going to have dinner in a bit, then get the bus back to school then have DT and Art, then come home and come back on here for a bit, then get ready and go to work then come home and have a (reasonably) early night, refreshed and restored in preperation for Tuesday (the second worst day of the week - second only to Thursday)

Holiday today-Columbus Day- which is nice because it is a good day to stay in.  Cold and
Rainy.  Have a bit of a cold to so I'm happy to just bundle up and read some Steinbeck.  :)

I gotta go downtown in a bit, to City Hall and then to the Savvis Center.. i may stop by Busch Stadium and see what kind of stuff they're selling what with it being the first game of the NLCS tonight.

I went into the City Centre and got my watch battery sorted out and some bits and bobs.

I should have gone to my counsellor this morning but I forgot all about my appointment and woke up late. :-[

I remembered last night until I got into bed and forget to put my alarm on.  ::) ;D

I've accidentally forgotten to activate my alarm a few times and as a result overslept. :-\\ I hate when that happens. :-[

I've got a rehearsal tonight for the Scout District Show.  I think I get to try on my costume tonight for the first time.  Then I've got to dash back so hubby can go out running.  I said i would probably have a rehearsal tonight but he still arranged to go out  ::)

I should be at work, but I didn't feel too well when I got up this morning.  Now, I'm feeling better, and I'm looking around the house and it needs cleaning, but I can't get motivated.

Tonight I went out with the lasses from work. Ate, drank and was merry, but didn't get drunk. An enjoyable evening, I only wish we could do it more often...

Today after I had my classes, I spent the afternoon in the university library, spending some time on this site, but also trying to find a particular book book that could possibly be of assistance for the report I have to write for my history class. Unfortunately I couldn't find the book anywhere. So I tried searching the library catalog for other books in the particular subject area and found a few possibilities. But when I looked at those books, I couldn't find anything that might be helpful. I wasn't gonna check out a book and find little or no information in it.

I also have midterms coming up soon, the first of which is on Tuesday; I will try to spend the weekend preparing for it.

Spent a few days at my parents which was nice and now I'm back home :D

I volunteered at my hospital today.

I'm going to go to a high school football game today.

Today I woke up, went to school. Had first two periods off so me and my friends went to the town. Then I came back for the most boring RE lesson of my life, followed by the most boring English lesson of my life. Then had a lunch that was barely enough to feed a field mouse, then went to art where I got nagged at for 50 minutes by my stupid teacher who picks on me because he is a middle-aged sad lonely man whose wife and children don't love him. Then I wanted to go home early, but the idiotic bus was 15 minutes late (quite how exactly escapes me, it was empty). Came home and had a couple of hours nap in bed, then went to work and had an equally sh*t night. Tomorrow looks to be a bit better (No work or school, which already makes it 580,656,815,380,165,380,655 times better than a weekday). Hopefully gonna listen to the match, then i'm going out with friends and family again tomorrow night.

Well...spent the day at the hospital for my mom's test.....then, Chris and I went to a banquet tonight and now I am just relaxing.

This morning/afternoon my mom and I cleaned the house to get it prepared for my grandparents' visit; they'll be staying here overnight. I was so busy that I couldn't be here during the day. And since the Angels are not winning the baseball game (I'd be watching it right now instead if they were), I decided to hang out here.

Got an A in my Political Science exam this morning. Came home, slept. (I'm worried about how tired i am, i never usually nap in the day  :P) Went out for Lunch with a friend. Came home.. fell asleep!! again whilst watching 'Hellboy' (relativley humerous) messed around on the computer for a while then went out for dinner.

I went to Wal-Mart for some DVD shopping :)

A relaxing day, out for a walk, visited some charity shops and then back home.

I just had an argument on the phone with my boss. She phoned up and asked if I could come in tonight because someone hadn't turned up. Here's how the conversation went (roughly):

boss: Hi, Michael, it's (your boss) from work, is there any chance of you being able to come in and do 7 to 11 tonight?
me: No, sorry i've already made arrangements to go out
boss: Please, Michael, we're desperate... there's no one who can do it
me: What do you want me to do? cancel my plans and tell everyone that i can't go out because i'd rather go to work?!
boss: (long pause)... well, I wouldn't be asking you if we didn't need you... (your other colleague)'s going to be on her own tonight. I can't do the shift coz i'm in at 6 tomorrow morning...
me: I know and I can appreciate that, (boss) but i've had this planned for weeks and everyone'll be getting ready to go now
boss: I've only just found out myself I can't give you any shorter notice than that
me: (boss), I can't. It's too late. There are too many people i'd have to phone in order to cancel it. I'm sorry I can't help you, but that's the way it is

boss: Nothing, i'm thinking who else I can ring...

me: Yeah, but that's not my fault, i've turned up for all my shifts, so I don't know what you're being like that for...
boss: You're supposed to be working tonight anyway, so I don't see what the big deal is
me: I've arranged to go out and have a life! It's been arranged for weeks and i'm not prepared to spoil it all just because some moron can't be bothered to come in and work their shift...
boss: Fine... I'll see you tomorrow

This conversation isn't exactly word-for-word, but it's what I can remember from memory. The actual conversation was longer, but I can't remember what else was said. This is the sort of thing I have to put up with when my boss is in one of her moods (like last night, for example). Now maybe you can all see why I want another job...
