I never bought into the theory...I mean, Glavine did good here, Bill Swift was great in '95...we've had other good pitchers. Even Nomo threw a no-hitter ::) They've also showed how the ball travels only 6% further in this altitude which is why I thought they should put the fences back further to accomadate that stat...but they never listen to me! Anyway, best of luck this season ;)

Did reading with my son's class. Signed up other son for guitar lessons. Youngest daughter had friends over and they've been singing and dancing around in the family room. Three 14 year old girls can make a LOT of noise :D

I remembered to go and get my haircut yesterday. For those interested a wash and cut cost me £11. Yet again I made the resolution not to let it grow out quite as much. only time will tell if I stick to it.
usual work stuff at the moment. Dai is back from his trip away but he will be out with work colleagues tonight so I've decided to take the children out for a meal. Haven't quite decided where yet.

I got up this morning to the sound of my phone. Beth called and we met up and ran 2 miles together before she went to work. I called a florist and had a single Pink Rose delivered to her at her job :) I'm posting for a while and then taking her out to lunch...the rollercoaster is definatly on the upward journey :D ;)

Today was quite boring. I had the Pan-Ram Invitationals for track, which is where the two best people from each event compete against other schools. There was about a total of thirty schools there from all over our county. I was there for 12 freaking hours and only ran in one event which took about five minutes. The event I ran in was the one mile. There were three heats. The 1st being the fast people, the 2nd being the even faster people, and the 3rd being the insanely fast people. I was excited because I thought I'd be in the 1st heat and I would have had a very good chance of winning it. But, they put me in the 2nd heat and that made me less confident that I'd do well, which affected my time. I finished 9th out of 16 and got a 4:55, three seconds worse than my best time. So now I'm home with really bad sunburn on my face and knees.

That was really just a sarcastic remark, sorry. If you knew me in real life, like Shiprunner does, you'd know. I really don't care what console I play, except for Xbox, which I hate with a passion, but my main console is PS2. I'd like to play on the computer, but every computer I've had so far sucks.
Ah I see. I have an X-Box and I love it (yet to see a decent wrestling game on it though :-\\).
You can't go wrong with a home computer though. The next time you buy a computer, find out how good the processor is (usually measured in Ghtz) and how much RAM it has (usually measured in MB) and don't forget the quality of your graphics card (at least G Force 4). These will determine how well you can play games. ;)

Went to the flea market for the first time of the season. Picked up a big jar that was for advertising Frito Lays back in the 50s, but without the lid. Now I'm on the hunt for a lid to fit it. That will be my mission for the summer! :)

usual sort of weekend. The kids swimming lesson haven't restarted after the Easter break so we only had to take Elizabeth to her dancing lesson. We did the grocery shopping whilst she was there. Picked up a recipe card for chicken and cous cous and bought the ingredients to cook on Saturday evening. It was delicious and something we will try again another weekend.
On Sunday we went orienteering. I thought the woodland was alright if a bit bramble covered in places. Dai thought it was horrible because he saw nothing but bramble (nasty spiky plants for those who don't know what I'm on about). The advantage of doing a short course (me) compared to a nutter's course (him)! I took the children around an easy course first whilst Dai was out running his course. In the afternoon I took the children to the park and Elizabeth practiced riding her bike without stabilisers on. She has finally mastered it, including cornering, although she's still a bit irratic in her steering!
Normal work day today, with nothing particular planned.

Hah... I'm reminded of "detention" at my school. We were on "Rubbish Duty", but all you had to do was report at the start and finish (usually within an hour). So we would just show up, disappear to the park or where-ever, then return an hour later. The school higher-ups soon caught on when they began to realise the school was never tidied ;D

At work as usual today. I'm waiting for an engineer to call to fix our weighing scales. Although he might have already tried to gain access but I didn't hear him because someone else is here drilling in to a concrete floor to fix our multi-axis vibration simulator to the floor. V noisy!

I work at a pawn shop....people bring in their used VHS's, DVD's, CD's, Action Figures, Video games/ video game Consols/Guitars/Guitar accessories, Band shirts......they get money for it...and we resale it.
we sell alot of vintage gaming systems such as atari, intellevision,kaleko vision ....etc...and numerous vintage Star Wars/masters of the universe/yada yada yada memorabilia ...
...I've gotten to know my video games and action figures to a T now....lol ;D

You're so right...when we first moved out of our mobile home after the 1994 earthquake, we found that we had lots of stuff that we hadn't touched in a while. Likewise, when we began packing things up in 2000 to move out of the mobile home permanently, there was some stuff we had completely forgotten about! Oh, the memories that arise. :o In fact, we've been reorganizing our garage at least once a year, and in our boxes we've come across more stuff that we forgot we even had!
