I wonder if they'll bring back The Undertaker soon? I haven't seen him in 3 months since he feuded with Randy Orton at Wrestlemania and he needed some time off to heal his knee.

Right, for all of those who want to know who was picked at the Smackdown Taped show today.
Copy and paste this text in to a word document or just another message.
Smackdown have picked The Rabid Wolverine, Chris Benoit, presumably this means that John Cena will definatley be staying on Raw. With any luck this will mean Benoit will be made WWE champion.

Chris Benoit vs.JBL will most likely be the next new feud within the next couple of months but why in the hell did they bring Chris Benoit back to Smackdown? WWF should've just left him there a year ago! ::)

I made that text small and invisible so if people didn't want to know.. they just wouldn't highlight it. ::)
Still.. now everyone knows. I think at the time they wanted to freshen up Raw.. now Smackdown needs freshening up.

Benoit? Bleh... he just left Smackdown not so long ago. I was hoping it would be someone who'd not been there for a very long time. Christian would be a good choice, since he's got the skills and charisma to make it work but seems forever stuck as a mid-carder on Raw despite the various pushes he's been getting recently. Jericho might also be good. I'd really like to see Triple H jump shows (and be stuck with it). He's just too cozy at Raw and it's long since gotten boring.

I hope this roster split does well towards the end and hopefully RAW & Smackdown won't end with terrible storylines.I also hope that JBL vs.Chris Benoit on Smackdown and John Cena vs.HHH(If It does happen)will end up being good feuds in the near future.

Benoit came from Smackdown just last year and when he was on RAW the first time he wound up in a feud with HHH.Let's see how good of a feud JBL vs.Chris Benoit turns out to be.

JBL won me over, despite the fact that I saw him walking around with a giant inflatable Godzilla.
I have a feeling if Benoit sells the feud enough (Big Man vs. Litle Man) it would be great.

I'm not sure of how many of them actually do that nowadays. I'll admit that there was considerably more of it back 80s and perhaps early 90s, but with so many fans "in the know" nowadays the idea of them whining about being a real "sport" is laughable. They WILL argue about the amount of athleticism required to perform and get upset if people diss that athleticism.
You didn't answer my earlier question, so I don't know if you've seen it. There's a show on ESPN you might be interested in call "Real Professional Wrestling" (think that's the name). Anyway, it's basically an attempt to get more people to watch "amateur" wrestling in a more big-time celebrated style so that the true sport of wrestling might achieve more popularity (least, that's my impression). The wrestling is real, with many of the people being olympic hopefuls or even previous olympic contenders. That being said, it's sort of like watching just the wrestling part of the olympics. If you've not seen it, you might want to check it out. Think it typically shows on the weekend.
I only wanted to express my being baffled that my ex-brother in law STILL to this day, believes it's real ::) He and I used to go round and round...about this. Once while watching a live match, I told him I bet I knew who would win and how. As we watched I basically told him what was going to happen next...and it did! After the match he said "You've seen it before"...but it was Live ;D
My late son Blaine was also a "Real" wrestler and it used to really bother him that his older brother and my oldest son Richard spent years taking this stuff seriously. Anyway, I appreciate what you've said and also thank you for letting me know about that show. I will definately check it out ;)

Who's watching this tonight?
This was the best PPV I have ever watched.
Yes, better than WM II, better than WM I, better than sex dammit!
This just goes to show all those arrogant, ignorant bastards who think that wrestling is fake exactley why they should either sit down and watch the show or keep their circa 1980 opinions to themselves.
Does this look fake?
http://www.wedinsonline.com/001.jpg
I am seriously tired of people, fans included, not giving the amount of respect to the realism that is involved in the sport. From the shoot promos last night, to the numerous injuries that were no doubt incurred, it's time that some people, the smug, ignorant "Hulk Remebering" sections of the population to realise they don't have a clue what wrestling is about.
The days of Kayfabe are gone. If you don't know about "hot crowds", "huge pops", "wrestler marks", "blading", and "shoots" you're in the wrong century.
Last night was a perfect example of how real it gets. Sure Sabu couldn't work like he used to, I guess that's what happens when a broken neck isn't your worst injury, it's just one of the many injuries. You tell me that Masato Tanaka wasn't truly damaged after he was given an Awesome Bomb 10 feet into a table on the outside of the ring.
Last night was the wrestling I remember...
...and the wrestling I loved.
f*k WWE!

By the way, for those that don't know.
That wound was re-opened by JBL when he tracked down Meanie, for some "bully" comments he made and litterally beat the piss out of him in an honest to God shoot.
After Meanie had taken a few shots he pulled Maven over him to choke so he could get out of the way of the fists of fury.

I'm a fan of traditinal wrestling with the rules that they abide by, not wrestling entertainment that while I'm sure has real injuries, also has some foul mouthed macho jerks who are nothing but grown up bullies. They're not all bad but it's just not something I waste my time on. I'm just a fan of the wrestling that my late son used to do, the one that makes the sports pages ;)

No it's not a terrible comparisson because pro wrestlers are getting hurt badly even deathly because we the fans are forcing them to keep doing greater and greater stunts.
A superplex from the top of scaffolding onto three stacked tables is cooler than sheesh, but UNECESSARY.

I really don't think the fans gave a crap that Owen was coming down as the Blue Blazer. It was a stupid rehash of a crappy gimmick that never got any pop.
I liked the EC'Dub pay-per-view it was hardcore, it involved a lot of pretty real bumps. It was amazing and I feel it was just as safe as Lesnar going for a shooting star press off the top rope.
No guts, no glory.

Honestly, the reason I liked ECW wasn't so much for the wrestling, but more because all the people that were being canned by WCW or were being held back with crappy gimmicks and shoots, were given more of a voice.

Vince McMahon is really an idiot:
Chavo Guerrero had an interview where he denounced his Hispanic background. He said that he felt that it held him back, therefore he's legally changed his name Kerwin White.
Kerwin White? His head, facial hair are completely all shaved off, looks like a college prep student and also looks like a doofus. ::)
What has the WWF gotten themselves into? ::)ÂÂ

The WWF is getting really crappy as of late. They turned Eddie Guerreo into a psycho and what he plans to do with Ray Mysterio's kids,Chavo just changed his name to Kerwin White,Shawn Michaels turned on Hulk Hogan,Hulk Hogan has a show entitled Hogan Knows Best and Brock Lesnar might be coming back soon. That's how crappy wrestling has been lately. ::)

Errrm.. Howard
Brock was to be honest a dick.. he was also incredibly talented.
Eddie Is much better as a heel, although i don't know if i like where his fued with rey Mysterio is going.
Chavo needed a fresh gimmick, who knows Kerwin white could be funny as hell..

It's a smackdown ppv, i don't expect much.
The big problem with smackdown, is they have a small number of incredibly talented wrestlers, however they are all fueding with sub par wrestlers. This basically drags it down.

I don't think Animal and Heidenreich will win the tag team titles.Animal is absolutely nothing without Hawk anymore.Animal or Heidenreich will most likely turn on one another OR win the tag team titles and lose it the week after on Smackdown then someone will turn heel for blaming someone for losing the titles and it could be Road Warrior Animal.

So apparentely the persona of Hassan is gone, what a pity. Yeah, I found him annoying and yeah it was a a matter of him pointing a finger at people supposedly hating him because he was Arab-American rather than because he was personally an ass, but he was a heel, so it's too be expected. What really bugs me about the loss of his character was that because at the end of everything, all the rhetoric he was spouted ended up being true. He got removed because he apparently a lot of people that DON'T follow wrestling believed he was portrayed as a terrorist when he actually was attempting to portray the exact opposite. Unfortunately, the segment in which he denounced the media for completely misinterpreting his character never aired, since, having read his speech in the segment, it's probably some of the best stuff coming out of the WWE for a while...

Summerslam looks to be a pretty good show so far.
Y2J V John Cena- I want Jericho to won, but I know Cena will.
HBK V Hulk Hogan- I'm not sure who I want to win in this match, I like them both.
I'm glad Animal is back and is Tag Champ with Heidey, but no one can replace Hawk.

Bad News People... Chris Jericho is Leaving the WWE after Summerslam
He is dissapointed at the way his charcter is being used and his contract runs out right after Summerslam and he will NOT Renew it
He will be sadly missed...by me atleast :(

Now I have GREAT News, Apparently Chris Jericho Renewed his Contract this past Monday. He said he kept hearing the rumors today that he was leaving after Summerslam but he wanted to set the record straight that he just recently resigned a Contract Extention and he's not leaving at all!
SWEET! 8)

It was the worst Single Brand Pay Per View i have ever seen, in fact this is probably the worst one for at least 4-5 years.

Don't believe everything that's written. Although it's true that he may be around a bit less in the coming months that only because his band are touring Europe. This is good exposure for WWE as the try and push out in to other Markets.

Smackdown was a stupid joke last night for most of the moments.Animal tells Heidenreich to shave his head and look like Hawk.So they come down the aisle and Heidenreich looks like a moron for his face character.Melina wrestles Tori and all throughout the match they try to black out Melina's crotch and ass shot most likely some pubic hair was exposed OR she forgot to put on her panties which must've made the guys in the audience very happy.Undertaker wrestles JBL and a referee gets knocked down for the umpteenth time. But some of the matches were pretty good to say the least.

I didn't see it, I was just going based on what Howard said.
I did however see Smackdown, and saw a glimpse of what it was really like. It had potential, but what a bunch of sickening crap with Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mesterio Jr.

I think Steve McMichael is one of wrestling's biggest IDIOTS...Yeah, the only way he could win is with his trusty steel briefcase...and Debra was no prize either...
Oh well, dumb loves dumber!

You knowsomething, this wwf-wwe isn't like what it used to be like. I haven't watched this stuff for 2-3 years. What ever happened to the wrestling that they showed in the 70-80's. Now that was good. Even the kids loved to sat down in the evening with mom and dad and watch it. Now all it is about is sex and bad language. Lets see what kind of reply I get on this.KENNY

You are basically saying what a lot of us say hear on the boards, Kenny. The fun has been knocked out of wrestling (yes, even Bushwhackers and 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan had a role to play ;D) and too much of what happens backstage has been revealed too which loses the magic of what is happening - what are they going to do next, show Vince telling a wrestler he is going to job tonight? :P).
Talking of which, Jim Duggan (for all his crap wrestling) was excellent at geering up the crowd - probably why he was on quite often at the start of the P-P-V or after something heavy (for example; notice the change of mood after the Bret 'Hitman' Hart vs 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper IC title match at Wrestlemania 8 by bringing 'Hacksaw' and the gang in - clever booking regardless of whether we enjoyed the match or not).

I'm not a big fan of today's wrestling. In the good old days of wrestling, it was Wrestler vs. Wrestler in the ring. Now it's Wrestler (with the help of two other Wrestlers) vs. Wrestler (with the help of three other Wrestlers) back stage with chairs, garbage cans and lead pipes :(
Another thing about today's Wrestling is that there is too much commentary. These announcer guys talk about upcoming events too much. I don't wanna know what's coming, I wanna watch a match now
80's and early 90's wrestling was great! I used to like when Hogan would say "The Hulkamania's gonna run wild on you"
I remember when the American game show Family Feud had wrestling week. The Nasty Boys, The Mountie, Hulk Hogan and a whole host of others competed for cash prizes for their charities. Man, those were fun shows :)

I can deal with that, lol. It's when the plotlines can't distinguish controversy and psychology. They think that if it isn't to do with taking another woman (dead as in some cases - Kane eugh! :P) or about two gay blokes getting married then people won't watch it.
The plots of the old days were more interesting because you could get in the mind of the wrestlers (great feuds include 'Machoman' Randy Savage vs Hulk Hogan/Ultimate Warrior/Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, Jake 'Snake' Roberts vs 'Model' Rick Martel and 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper vs 'Ravashing' Rick Rude - all excellent and lead up to exciting matches).
Another thing about today's Wrestling is that there is too much commentary. These announcer guys talk about upcoming events too much. I don't wanna know what's coming, I wanna watch a match now
That's just simply the way they advertise things, Whistle, and I think they have done that for quite some time (I remember at one stage Summerslam 1988 was advertising an upcoming boxing match at Caesar's Palace!).

The man is a good wrestler but I don't think he needed to because his poplularity was so big. He didn't need to try. Hogan could get a crowd into a frenzy and that was what put bums on seats. Not many wrestlers have done that since.

I remember something about a Family Feud show based on Jimmy Hart's wrestlers against some others at the time. About 1991 I think. :)

It seems like though in today's wrestling, after a wrestling match, they cut to a commentator who takes 5 minutes talking about an upcoming event. Then after the following commercial break, that same dude talks another 5 minutes about that same event. In the age of 80's and 90's wrestling, they did that as well, but it wasn't as long, thus they had time to fit more wrestling matches into the hour long show :)
I used to hate Brotherly Love, that dude with the red face who'd do that little skit where he'd talk with a wrestler. Man, was he annoying ;D

So Warrior has recently gone off about the DVD the besmirches (always wanted to say that) him.
Warrior goes off... again....but this time it's even a little funny.
I recently bought a wrestling domain...
...I just need to be inspired to finish it; after a day of web work, it's hard to do web work :P
