Different countries were located elsewhere before we had something called "continental drift"; actually, the countries themselves had not yet been established, but the land masses that later contained them had been located elsewhere...and then the  land masses moved all around before finally settling in the places in which they are today.

Chemistry was not one of my best subjects either...but algebra and geometry were. In fact, I had Algebra One during my final year of junior high (8th grade) and got an A in the class...and during my freshman year of high school I took geometry and got an A in that class, too! Then math began to gradually get complicated for me...but I got through it.
