Christmas drama seems to continue  :P  Hubby has not spoke of it (I do not know if he switched his weekends with the employee who wanted too).  I do not know if we are going to my mothers, as a family this weekend....  BUT he just said that he hoped to get Miley clipped, and take her to Linda's so the 2 poodles could play...  (Which is good, because this is his mother's side of the family whose dad has irreversible lung cancer - and I am not sure if he will have another Christmas)???  We missed Thanksgiving with them, for my mothers, I hate to miss Christmas as well. 

Bad news is, that means it looks like I will be heading up Christmas Eve by myself to make sure that my mother has someone there :-\\  Man I am going to miss my girls :P (not sure about the husband right now)

Well this 10 year anniversary was a bust - same as every other anniversary....

I went grocery shopping the other night and bought a lovely filet of beef and had the butcher trim and tie it...  I prepared a lovely peppered filet of beef roast, and king crab legs.  So we had a beautiful Surf and Turf meal with parsley & paprika baby potatoes, grilled asparagus, and fresh pineapple.  So we had our "Anniversary dinner" with the girls and I then proceeded to clean the house; later fell asleep on the couch...

I do not think my husband has a romantic bone in his body...

He gave me my gift, it was lovely (but not anything that I would wear, and I have no where to wear a cocktail bangle too...) I am way to hard on my jewelry to have something with high prongs and delicate arms....  Does he know me at all???? I am feeling more lost than ever (I am really beginning to hate the Holidays - and I used to love them)

I am afraid that is what it will come down too.... I say one thing, he gets something similar but not ( my "DREAM" piece of jewelry is a tennis bracelet - pave set; he gets a small, delicate bangle with several diamonds in a flower pattern in the center with a bunch of prongs sticking up) ... in yellow gold (every piece of jewelry he has given me has been yellow gold- and I thought I have stated that I am not really a fan of yellow gold)  ::)

He does not "look around to shop" he goes to one "family" jewelry store (which I do not really care for their selection) - and stops after work once, get's whatever and gone....
I even showed him very reasonably priced things I liked at Sam's club and such... it just does not sink in :P

That's not the point. They don't know that the woman usually just wants them to listen, and understand her feelings genuinely, and feel like they are connecting. Empathize, sympathize and listen. Don't solve right away
This is how men must proceed, but they don't, I forget that sometimes as well, and wife reminds me. We are just wired differently than women. Marriage isn't easy, got to work at it almost everyday.

I was supposed to write "thus always to tyrants", but accidentally wrote "thus always to pirates" instead. Shocking.

Just had a wonderful time at my mother's house (we went up as a family today, hubby too).  She was in a good mood, instead of frantic and miserable.  She didn't even complain about the new 40" flat screen we bought her and set up (She normally, hates any "new" technology we get her).  Really it was time for her 30+ year old console set to get a much deserved rest.  AND she loved the Channel #5 I bought her (she hasn't had a bottle of it FOREVER - but all of my life she has kept an "empty" bottle in her room).  I always new it was her favorite, but she never had enough money to buy it. She cried.  We then were able to eat out, at a favorite local restaurant (that I haven't ate at in over 10 years) - and it was as DELICIOUS as ever!

So my good day, resulted in the RESTORATION of my Christmas spirit!
