I tried reading a John Fowles book recently and found myself falling asleep. So now I've gone back to reading regular silly-person books like CS Lewis.

Why is it most books that are "great reading" do I find extremely boring and terrible :P

Yesterday was a freaky day here.  Temps got upto 70 degrees F.... And there were thunderstorms (in Nov. In Iowa???  Unheard of). Then the cool front came in, we were under a tornado watch till 6:00 last night.  And there was a tornado (way north of us- but still in November?  With golfball sized hail and all)...  This morning it now feels like 16 degrees Farenheit this morn!

I wanted to go to the cricket on Saturday (or Sunday) but they reckon it is sold out!  >:(  Hopefully, England will be 6 for 36 by lunch.  :)  But somehow...I doubt that will happen to this particular English team. They seem to be a solid unit....while the Sussies are searching for some future talent and consistency. I think they will be very lucky if we win this Ashes series.

I posted in the happy turkey day thread but it started off okay...

Turkey (fried and brine both yummy), Ham (salty but good), lumpia (salty but good), mashed taters (good), stuffing (great), hawaiian bread (great) ---no yams  :\'( :\'( :\'(  and I didn't eat the green beans cuz they looked like they were drowned in cream o' mushroom. 

anywho... the first plate was great... for the second plate (which was quite small) I went for the gravy I didn't see the first time.... it wasn't your normal gravy it was a juice or something and it tasted like downing an entire container of morton's salt....  8-P  I then had a piece of apple and a piece of pumpkin pie---- as soon as I finished I knew I ate too much... I didn't have an I'm full warning I went whoo hoo I'm eating to OMG get me to the toilet.....  I then spent 20 minutes vomiting... now I feel great!  ;D
