A first sight I thought you were also a little swinging girl with those ponies. You know, I think it would be amusing not having gender sign. Part of the deal will be to make up who is everyone. Anyway I agree your quote, I have my own GRIPES on these boards, as strong as if they were next doors. The only needed fuel is some give and take to have this relation marching on. So I take seriously enough all my posts even those of mockery and jokes.
Dear King Tut,
Tonight we learned that even though we shouldn't take life too seriously, sometimes we don't take our friends' gripes seriously enough.
(And that's why I still watch cartoons: for the career advice and the philosophy, even more so than the entertainment.)
As the drifter I am, I never take life seriously enough, but friends are the real lighthouse to keep me from being a seagull in the dark.
Real of phoney who cares ? I really appreciate these readings you always try and bring on here to please me, and that's the best.
I didn't repair about gender, but if I DID...what's for ? As some of you said, one of the funiest things is to be what or who you wanna be. Silly sailor or wise wildcat.
Yes, at very first I also thought TIA ( aunt in Spansih) was a girl, a young girl, by the way her bell ring in my brain. When I afterwards realized she was he, a laughing came to me, and I didn't get disappointed because now that I have learnt a bit about "this former girl" I realize how narrow-minded we can reach to be, and I know how close both genders are, in the end, and I thought myself could be a girl.... if I HIT the wrong key.
Morevoer I had no idea about that Susanna Hoffs. Of course, I supposed this avatar wasn't King Tut, but I fancied it really was. Me, as someone else, I guess, I come in here to get some fun, and some learning as well. So everyone of you counts to me and everyone of you can count on me, this is the game I love to play. HENCE when I lose any penguin at line, I disticntly experience a little shame and wear a little frown in my mind. As for she or he, I found IT funny, cheerful, energetic a real KEEN TUG.
Then ...no more KING TUT. All King tut wrote has it vanished ? his or her count has been deleted and we can't read about anynore ?
I hope Sussie Keen Tug come back some day when she or he knows some friends inthe00s, DOES care for him or her.
A sad loss, no doubt.

Apparently, King Tut was 'warned' by some other members... saying that someone here likes to "take immense pleasure at continuously hurting and destroying others." As well, there are supposed to be "tribulistic rituals" that happen around here...
This leads me in a direction to figure out 'who' likes to warn new members.
Ya, good sporting bunch we got around here...

i LOVE poltergeist, when i got a blu-ray player it's one of the first flicks i put in my best-of-the-best blu-ray library. it's right up there with "capricorn one" and "nightmare on elm street." that is an inside lane flick for me.
as for whether it's still scary, i couldn't say, i've seen it so many times i don't really get that part anymore, i just love the craft of it. but as i remember, the bits with the clown puppet, the chairs getting arranged on the table in that (incredibly well done) continuous shot (they did that without breaking the take!), the dead canary in the yard that the bulldozer digs up (FORESHADOWING), and then obviously the bit at the end with moving the headstones (i don't want to spoil it in case someone in the universe still hasn't seen it), the corpses in the pool.... those were moments that definitely worked on me as a kid. i mean, yeah, we're talking tobe hooper, the man behind the original "texas chainsaw massacre," which is unparalleled in creepiness. yeah, poltergeist, scary? i'll allow it. i'd even put it up there with some of the classic horror flicks, but i have to be honest, the big-budget blockbuster vibe detracts a bit from its horror cred. if tobe had given it a BIT more of that seedy texas chainsaw massacre vibe i think it would have been even creepier.
anyway, king tut! come back to us! is my point. it's ok if you like poltergeist. you're not alone! you're chicken, but not alone. and that movie definitely made me chicken too, back before i'd seen it like 40 times.

Don't get me wrong, I think its a great film. I just don't think it's scary..... I think the Poltergeist curse and the fact that there were real skeletons in the pool creepy as all get out but the film, not so scary.... you have to remember I had seen virtually every slasher flick ever made before ever watching Poltergeist.... I classify it as Supernatural but not Horror.... hey we are all entitled to our opinions.

i'm down, getting actually scared by a movie is so subjective. poltergeist scared the crap out of me when i was 10, 11, not so much now. there are movies that make me jump, but what's gonna scare my old, jaded a$$ at this point?
psycho and the shining still spook the fudge out of me. i'll admit that. sometimes a horror movie is four-star art, and it'll scare you. but that's super rare. don't get me started on "the haunting." but poltergeist? it's scary, and there are even parts that'll crawl up your mind a bit, which is cool, but that's not the main thing that's great about poltergeist. it's a proto-blockbuster, i consider it in there with star wars, jaws, close encounters... it's a horror the same way star wars is a fantasy, jaws is a thriller, close encounters is sci fi, the main thing all those movies were is exploring with the blockbuster model. a part of the reason i love them is they were blockbusters before or right during when the term was being coined. where it ended up, the blockbuster movie thing, has been rather sad, but i'm so thankful i was there at the beginning, because those movies were great and it's crystal clear why they were so often imitated.

Poltergeist was scary, but when I first saw it, was back in the 80s when it was new on video. Watching it now on Blu-Ray Book edition, it isn't as scary, but it still has it's moments.
The sequel: 'Poltergeist II: The Other Side'. Not even scary at all.
Poltergeist III, a welcome return but it has too many changes that sort of made it feel like it was not part of the Poltergeist franchaise

Bingo. I'm not gonna boink any of you, so I don't care about the configuration of your genitals, I care about whether someone's capable of bringing the funny so we all keep coming back here to fill in the blanks in our own (and others') pop culture knowledge.
But since we're still talking about it, I'll throw my two bits into the tubes and place my bet on Tut as Dude.
This. The whole thought of someone talking smack like that pisses me off. I have been here for years and years and have had many things annoy me/tick me off, but this is like betrayal right here. I'm hoping that she was just pulling it out of her ass to cause strife, but who knows? :-\\
It's almost like nobody here has been keeping up on Season 2.

You only need to watch the first 90 seconds of the first video to get the point. But you'll keep watching anyways. Not just for the "Chocolate Rain" reference, but because they got John DeLancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation's "Q" to resurrect "Q" (or some other character who does things for the lulz) in a kid's cartoon. It doesn't get any more meta than that.

And I will agree with you. I think this because in some posts he was very masculine, but in others very feminine. Because he is in touch with his fem side (and I am not saying he is gay so don't get it confused) he didn't want to be seen as a soft male - so he claimed to be female. ;)
Please note - I did not call anyone gay, homosexual or anything of the like. I am placing this note here as an account was deleted and not banned, so anyone can view this post.) ;)

I forgot how that guy rambled on with essay length posts.
This was the part I didn't get ...
Philip Eno - I do not (and have never) understood his appeal. He literally talks like a robot and has to have the most dreary, boring personality I think I've ever "seen". If you like him that's your business, but I think I'd have more fun watching paint drying for a week - at least that changes.
He just based Phil for no reason, then he did this ...
whistledog - You always miss the point if anyone calls you on something, including this. Quit sidestepping the issue and doing the same smart aleck remarks, have a heart and at least attempt to be serious. Its bad enough you're a snob and trash anyone you dont like or lump people together (like picking on kids or anyone you disagree with - that's another pet peeve, but beside the point). D*mn dude, even the few cool things about you like music knowledge and sense of humor gets ruined by your smarmy attitude. Worse off though, its people like YOU who ruin it for people like ME becaues you especially make chauvenist pig remarks about women (i.e. celebrities or even people on the board) who you don't even know. Thats the difference between complimentary and creepy sex talk.
I think he was just upset because I would always ruin his decadeology posts, so he was looking for any angle to put me under the sniper scope. I never made chauvenist pig remarks about any members of the board, but I do all the time about celebrities, because I mean who doesn't?
And just because I can ...
Have you seen the movie 'Love and Other Drugs'? Awful movie, but did you see the Jugs on Anne Hathaway? I'd something about Walt Disney and a magic lamp :D

Yeah I thought Tut was a dude myself, guess I wasn't the only one. Tut seemed like a pretty decent poster it's unfortunate they left over this apparently small disagreement over this movie. I didn't actually witness it however, unlike some of the other arguments that have gone down here over the years (like Jesse's post which I definitely remember).

Australian 80s Child used to frequent the FlashChat. S/he would come in and PM some of us and tell us about her condition and how it makes her feel so depressed. I was quite possibly the most creepy and uncomfortable I ever felt, that I almost did not want to go into FlashChat anymore, so I just stopped going in.
