We have a store Save a Lot that has a yellow line that prevents the carts from working, thus cuts down on loss reduction. Our ols Pathmark had a system where you would have to put a quarter into this device, like a lock to get a cart. When you returned the cart you put the "key" into the cart in front of it and get your quarter back. Geesh was that a run on sentence or what?

Pathmark used to do that a few months ago,It wound up being a bad idea cause customers kept pulling the carts but never saw the place where you put in the quarter slot so they took it away.

All right, I've got a good procrastination story for you.
As I'm sure most of you know, I was off work for about a month and a half with a broken hand. I finally went back to work Wednesday, but towards the end my money was starting to get a bit tight so I wasn't going out much, and I was getting bored out of my mind.
Anyway, at least a good 12 years ago I was at this sprint car race in Knoxville, Iowa when I bought this model kit of a 1950's era midget race car. It was actually new, but it was a reissue of a kit that originally came out in 1954 (that was the copyright date on the instructions). I took it home and stuck it on my dresser thinking I'd get to it fairly soon.
Never got around to it. When I moved down to Kansas City 4 years ago, while I was unpacking everything I found the kit and promptly put it on top of my refrigerator. It stayed there until I moved across town a little over a year ago, and when I unpacked it I put it...guess where? On top of my new refrigerator. And there it stayed until last Sunday when I saw it. I was completely bored and I told myself, "All right, dammit, I'm gonna finally put this thing together!"
And so, after sitting around since at least 1996 (and maybe even before that), I finally took it out of the box, painted it and glued it together, and at long last, here it is!

I never was all that good at building models but still it looks pretty cool. ;)
Cool story, Al ! (and excellent job too, I might add 8) ).
Sounds like you finally tackled something that's maybe been eating away at you for some time ?
As for me ... damn ... I've had this all in one fax/ photocopier/printer thing ... for close to a year now .... and have YET to find out if it actually works !
I bought it new .... just before mum arrived to visit me .... so, put it on the 'back burner'. Just before I went on my 3 month trip some time back, tried firing it up ... but had lost the ink cartridges. They turned out to be well buried within the guts of the machine. Paid 50 cents .. for someone else to make copy, telling myself wasn't worth installing cartridge now, as ink would have maybe dried out by time of return. More than a month has passed since my return :-\\ ... I'm running out of excuses ! :-[ :(
