No, ninny. It's not exactly 'around the corner'. The nearest I've been in THAT neck of the woods ... is Fiji ... which is probably STILL a few hours away in the plane .... from Kiribati. That was in 1985.

It was pleasant enough. Intense sun ... friendly native people, quiet. I liked hearing the natives sing a capella, with beautiful harmonies ... in a show they put on for us. So long since I was there .... I have an incredibly embarrassing capacity to forget so much about my holidays... so, can't really tell you too much more. 

Kiribati looks desolate enough for our liking!

It gets up to 85-87 everyday and the lows are around 80. As long as there are fans or airconditioners to help me sleep then I am fine.
