In reality, we has a week last year where everyday the temp was over 32C (90F). Once when I lived in Montreal, there were 22 out of 30 days where the temp reached 30C (within a calendar month).
It does get hot here.

You are so right, once in college I took a basic camping course in April, the weather was cold the day I went so I had mostly long sleeves and pants. The next day it got up in the high 70's and I got sunstroke and had to be taken back to camp. I should have brought long & short sleeved shirts with me.

If we are going to Hong Kong and Alaska, we need to pack for 2 places that have totally different weather.
One time, years ago, I was in Hong Kong in July, and the temp at 3AM in the morning was 34 degrees C with a humidex of 43, and with the humidex, that's well over 100-F, at 3AM...

In 1984, when the Summer Olympics were held in the Los Angeles area, I think my family was able to go down to the L.A. Coliseum, where some of the competitions were held, because they have some pictures that were taken there. I wouldn't remember, since I was only 4 years old at the time, and remember only a few things about my life from those days.
