I don't hate all country. Let's face it..The Eagles started out as glorified country (and I was/am a huge fan). There are many hits that are countrified that I have liked over the years such as Glen Campbell type hits like Wichita Lineman and Galveston ...Bellamy Brothers 'Let Your Love Flow' etc.

However, the really true country sound such as Randy Travis etc....leaves me cold!  All that wearing hats when they don't need to bugs me too.... It's like people in the city driving 4 wheel drive vehicles wjhen they will never be taken off road. Fake....

On the positive side.....country music has a lot less foul language and inuendo than popular music styles. Seems to be more 'wholesome' ....but it's crap nevertheless!

They do it at most parades I've gone to. The little kids look forward to it. If we use Tootsie Rolls they wont hurt as much if someone accidently gets hit by one.

The Annual Gorham Pageant of Bands is held at Marcus Whitman HS and Gorham Elementary Schools.  The 2009 Pageant is May 29th & May 30th.  Jazz, Percussion, Indoor Guard, Dance Team and Twirling events are held on Friday evening.  Concert, Field, and Parade events are held on Saturday.
My son was in this from 6th-12th grade.
