No, definitely beef
soya (for nally)

I opened a pack of minced beef today. You know how sometimes the pack says things like "great for chilli" or "great for hamburgers"? (or is that just my supermarket?) Anyway this particular pack said "great for meat" ! Well thanks for telling me, and here was I thinking of using is to wipe the floor
Another thing I have notice on packaging of food are the Sell By dates. There are two Sell By and Used By. It is the Used By that confuses me, on a sandwich the packet says "Used By: Apr 10 08", so what am I to use it for? To clean the windows?

No, but I did have a rabbit's foot once. That rabbit was not so lucky.
I had one too, when i was 12, but i'm now glad that I lost it. you're right, it's bad luck for the rabbit. So that's why I don't believe in superstition nonsense anymore.

Use By...means that you have to use it up no later than that date, or it will spoil.

Yes, there are so many disagreements as to when certain celebrities were born. I am a bit confused as to why that is.
I would give some examples, but I do need to get going now. A package from UPS is supposed to be delivered sometime in the next couple hours, and I need to be ready for when it arrives.

Last Spring, I was looking thru Wiki and saw the info on actor Donald Sutherland (Kiefer's Dad). It said he was born in Halifax NS, when in fact he was born right here in Saint John NB, but moved with his family to NS as a child.(In fact, I think his family moved to Bridgewater NS, not Halifax) Somebody finally wised up and added the factual info. My point is that there is a lot of info on that site, but it's not Encyclopaedia Britannica. Bios and other information are always open for editing by the general public. Until the people at Wiki start fact checking all of the incoming submissions, I reccomend only using it for bar bets ( and even then..... :-\\)

Wiki is a 'work in progress'. Over time, expect mistakes to be rectified.
It IS difficult when members are public are supplying information from books they've bought / respected authorities .... that disagree amongst themselves, or are just plain wrong, perhaps poorly researched. Most authorities, for instance, regard the South China Sea as the world's largest sea (Guinness Book of Records, Top 10 of Everything, to name just two) ... BUT 'The TIME almanac 2000' 'informs' me it is actually the 'Mediterranean Sea' (page 492). I'm sure I've seen other books tell me the 'Coral Sea' holds that achievement. As somebody who regularly attends trivia quizzes (not so much now but ... ) I have found it EXTREMELY frustrating .... to yell out an answer for a prize, be told it's 'Wrong' ... and they have one of the alternative 'answers'. Happens with deserts too, depending on how / whether they break them up or lump say the various Australian deserts all into one.
On the subject of ages, I have found wide variances too in many books about different celebrities ages. Particularly those born more than 50 years ago. As they have 'Who am I ' type questions, and will often supply year of birth, for a while, I was seriously trying to commit to memory the various celebrities birth years. One book says this, another that ......
I found out somewhere on the web this is often due to celebrities deliberately lying ..... in some instances, to try to appear younger than they were. Other times, there were no good records available .... their birth certificates ... maybe born somewhere before these started to be regularly issued ..
So, it is little wonder, that amateur contributors make 'mistakes' ... when the books we can buy from which they borrow, are often so flawed too .........

On the page for the tv music composer Ronnie Hazlehurst, someone included wrongly details that he composed a best selling song which he did not write (I cannot remember which song). When RH died last October (2007), many leading newspapers in the UK included this credit to his name in the obits, all because the press only reseached on wiki.

From the obit of Ronnie Hazlehurst in the Guardian.
"Hazlehurst often did just that. His easygoing style was born of a meticulous manner. Never self-important, he was glad to have had a career in music and, such was his good humour, he would have chortled at a prespammersite online hoax which has had him widely credited with a late career turn by composing S Club 7's hit Reach (2000). Of course, if they had asked him, he would have had a go at providing something."

What are the Principles of Tea Mind?
According to the Republic Of Tea-
Tea Mind is a state of profound thought, brought on by serene meditation over the proper tea usage.
While it can be reached without the use of tea, it is far more difficult to hold onto.
There is a belief that certain types of tea can help with various ailments, while others help to establish moods.
There is more to it, but that is what I know for certain.

What are you supposed to meditate on? How you just made the tea or coffee?
To my understanding, the meditation is dependent on the accomplanying tea.
Examples- Wuyi Oolong is dubbed "The Cup Of Poetry", and thus goes well when observing poetry.
The recommended "Beginner's Mind" tea is Spring Cherry green.
There are Health teas for those who are experiencing illnesses of different sorts, rare & more expensive teas for the jaded palate, and decaffeinated teas for those who want the flavor, but not the "pep".
There is even a few teas that are made to help with noble causes, such as Panda Berry Decaf & Kid's Cuppa. A portion of those tea sales are sent to Sunny Hills Services, which help with traumatized childredn, teens & their families.

Different herbs are used in different teas.
Example- For a sore throat, I have found that licorice tea works best. Others use a lemon honey tea.
For general energy, ginger tea works well.
It also depends on where the tea leaves are from, and what grade they are.
Most tea leaves grow in India, China, Formosa & Nepal.
Some are smoked, while others are pressed. Yet others are rolled into balls, and still others are sun-dried.
All these things go into the tea creation process.

When I look at the in the 00s page it shows the last post in the 'more than adecade' section was by Whistledog in the sitcom fathers thread. But when I go into the more than a decade section it shows that Satan' Dad was the last to post in that thread. I clicked on 'new', read the posts and then clicked on the link to go to the section again (i.e. not using the back button on the browser). It still showed the blue 'new' icon. So I click on that again but it just shows me what I've just read. Fine. Go back to the main in the 00s page and it shows Whistledog has made a post in the thread, but when I get to the thread it is still the same as what I have just read! I went through this rigmarole three times before it showed the correct info. :D

Nope...the last thread to be replied to at this moment was "What song from any decade are you listening to", and it was replied to by Philip Eno.....it says that on both the home page AND in MTAD. So nothing's wrong. Maybe you were just seeing things? I dunno.. :-\\

Last night, I noticed the glitch in that thread showing me as the last poster even though I wasn't. It could be that I'm just so awesome, that thread recognized it! ;D

I admit having done plenty of that today, given that I had a long, hectic week.

Yea...Alan was thinking of handing over the reins. It's almost like once a musician, always a musician...of one form or another, right?

No, a little mis-interpretation there. More 'fears' of being 'usurped' (every fool has his day ? ) ... and ... I suspect .... less time here coming up ... but time will tell.

But there's plenty of room on the Boards for multiple talents.....it just makes it all the more fun. Sometimes one talented person will be more creative for a period and then someone else takes over while they're in a lull.
Not too long ago (before we got smacked for bad behaviour) everyone was firing simultaneously and it was really dynamic. that's WHY it got out of hand...too much adult creativity. Those who add to the creativity with pictures make it more fun for the rest of us because we all see something different in the pictures and comment accordingly (of course, Howard always sees the same thing in every picture ;D).
...and we're all reasonably good sports to allow some of the outrageous stuff said about us etc. ....especially Howard and Billzy (and Snoz and Adagio who I pick on ...just for the fun and because I can ;). This would be a dull place indeed if we weren't all diverse characters. We just need to be careful and self-check our posts sometimes........or we get into hot water. :)
