And I probably wouldn't be able to make that many posts in one day unless I was completely free, with no cares or obligations...and could be online for literally half the day. We'll see how it goes.

Before I go...I just want to take another look at Phil's and my post count together...

He leads me by roughly 159,000 (subject to increase), but together we have a total of 499,012. We could see a combined half a million in just a couple days!

For today? Me too. I didn't get on until this afternoon, and I was on for a while...but somehow I ended up making 60 posts in just a couple hours.

On the plus side though, I have made over 4,000 so far this year...and will finish the month of January with more than that.

My stat is stored in a MS Excel file and I have used it to calculate my so-far average for this year, and how long it would take me to reach 200,000 if I were to keep that pace, and how many posts I'd be on pace for by the end of this year.

Phil and I are rapidly approaching a combined total of half a million posts. Here's where we currently stand:

If you started with Howard (3rd on the lists of most posts) and moved downward down the list, all the way down to Quirk, you 'd have to add up all theirs posts , just to equal Philip and yourself.

Hey, this may just be my day for making a record # of posts in a single day...that is, if I come back later. Pretty soon I need to go eat dinner, and afterwards watch some TV.

Well...I'm gonna have to bow out for the night. Didn't quite break my record for most posts in a day, but I think I did have one of my best posting days. This is my 268th for the day, and probably the last.

My known record for most posts in a day is 285 (achieved on December 4, 2006); I may have had more in a day, but I'm pretty sure I never made it to 300. I hope that day'll come sometime.

yeah...the same goes for when I play certain games in the Arcade on this site.

Anyhoo, I have just achieved 100+ posts for today, and I've only been online for about an hour and a half. In just a little bit I should get dressed and take care of some things around the house...and possibly see about going out if the rain doesn't come back.

I still think that that figure seems out of reach for me. It would usually take me two or three days minimum to make that many posts. But you never know; that day may eventually come for me.

I guess so...although when I went through the 50,000-99,999 range I wasn't labeled as such. "Pretty Geeky" must've come into play when Howard reached that plateau a couple years ago.

That's true, but I have been increasing my overall average lately by making more and more posts each day.

Today it doesn't look like I'll be making anywhere near 100 posts, but I am almost up to 172,000 overall. (Or just under 6,000 for this year alone.)

Just basing on averages, Howard should hit 100,000 posts in 273 days. You should hit 200,000 posts 2 months later than that ( assuming averages remain the same) Of course, if you are posting more, you will get there quicker.

Each day this year, I have made every attempt to post more. Going by my average for this year alone, I would be on pace to hit 200,000 sometime in September.

273 days from now, for the record, is November 14th. I would be past 200K by then if I keep up my average for this year alone. My posting rate has slowed down a few times in the past 6 years, due to taking breaks from the boards (including a few periods of several days in mid-2007 when our home PC crashed and I had to find public computers to use).

I was looking at the stats. I am 10th in the Top 10 posters, and the only one of the 10 who is not above 40,000 posts. I used to be like 6th, but I let myself slip down the line when I decided to see if I can keep my post count steady to the point where I am still an active member posting regulary each day, but lower my average posts her day (which is working quite nicely).

I wonder who is 11th and when will I be unseated from the top 10? :D

An easy way to find that out is to go to the Members list and sort everyone by Posts (simply by clicking the column heading). Bubbling under in positions 11 through 15, we have:

I just have an excellent memory, that's all. I remember June 8th, 2007, quite well.

And then it took me five months to get my next ten thousand posts...mainly due to my limited access to the internet during the middle part of the year.

That's right. I think that was the day Philip also reached 1000 posts and I reached 600 (for 1 day). It was a Saturday, Feb 6th, the weekend before the Winter Olympics began.

Also on that day, I had contemplated going out on my own, not sure if it was going to rain...but I managed to make my trip (both directions) without coming across any rain whatsoever!

Yep...and I'm pretty sure my parents have never visited Canada. My mom went to Europe 35 years ago and visited several different countries, and went on a Mexican cruise with my dad in '07... so that's all the traveling they've ever done outside the US. I've done none.
