The people in line behind me mocked me, and made caustic comments, about the fact I brought that vehicle to the restaurant's attention.
The restaurant General Manager was apologetic, and gladly called the police for me.
-Turned out the folks behind me were the owners of said car, and they got pissed when the Police showed up & towed their car away!

Hey, be glad you don't have the stupid uniforms the GIRLS had to wear at my school.....it was a 1 piece thing with blue shorts and blue/grey striped top with an elastic waist and a ZIPPER up the front.  Talk about a PITA if you had to pee while wearing it :o  Oh, and if you were cold, too damned bad, you couldn't put a sweatshirt/pants over it, you had to just be cold.  Not to mention I was so skinny and long that I had to get one 3 sizes too big so it didn't "ride up" and about the only place it touched my body was my shoulders ::)  The BOYS however, got to wear shorts and a t-shirt and the only requirement was they had to both be plain (no pictures, stripes, etc.) >:(

There is no law (here) saying that those stalls are for handicap people only. But if all other stalls are full, I'm not going to hesitate to use that one, even if a handicap person has to wait.

Cause that is the same parent who will sue you when the kid rides his bike/scooter/skateboard through your yard and hurts himself on your sprinkler. This after the kid bungs up your brickwork for six months while you ask him nicely to stop.

What works, I have learned in my many years, is to go out and talk to the kids whenever they are getting a little too close for comfort. I'm 41 and trust me, no little kid wants to talk to "the ol' crazy woman" about his skateboard every day.

That is what I do, anyway.

We've already had issues with these people before.  On the 4th of July, they were setting off firecrackers in the street near my sister's car and the garbage can/recyling bin.  Firecrackers + paper + automobile = ARE YOU STUPID?!  I ran outside about 4 times to tell them to get away from the car and the garbage can.  My dad talked to the mother about keeping the kid and her friends out of our driveway, but it obviously hasn't worked.  I told my sister to park sideways in the driveway all the way at the end so that they couldn't get into the driveway. 


Yes, I completely understand. I just moved away, as in sold my house, over stupid out of control people who have to make the police raise their children, kind of people.

When about 60% of the kids are home alone several hours a day, all you can do is go outside and talk to them until they want to leave. Hell, ask them if they remember wearing pullups. Buy a skateboard and ride it with them. Trust me they will go in their house, play video games and never come outside again!

Good point.  When I was tutoring special ed kids, I could've used a few dozen fish for the parents who insisted that their son or daughter would go to some ivy league college and have a professional career when it was obvious that their son or daughter had severe learning difficulties and didn't even care about college -- they just wanted help to get through high school and a glimmer of hope that their parents gave a darn about who they really were.

I'm confused as to what you mean.  Why do I need to build self-confidence about my kids?  These are parents who blame everyone BUT their kid for their shortcomings.  Example:  one mom was telling about her son not making the travel baseball team.  Well, of course it wasn't that her son wasn't good enough to make the team, it was because there weren't enough spots open.  Now, mind you, the kids were nowhere close enough to be hearing this so it has nothing to do with building their self-confidence, it's all about the parents.  When it comes to my kids, I'm honest with them.  If they're not the best at something, I'm not going to tell them they are simply to make them feel better about themselves.....then again, I'm not going to tell them they're the worst, either.....If they're better, I'll tell them so, if not, I'm going to tell them that as well, but I'm going to explain to them that they need to practice more if they want to get better or whatever the case may be and that I will be there to help them if they want/need me to.

Oh,  sure, I understand that.  But I'm talking about, ,for instance, a kid who is not making it and is trying his hardest and his dad saying, "My son will follow in my footsteps whether he likes it or not!"  And the son was not capable of following his father's academic footsteps and knew it.  The poor kid just needed a break.

Was some of it maybe wishful thinking?  I have a friend with a severely disabled child who will talk about when he's driving and when he gets married and the odds are that he'll never even be able to speak or walk, much less drive a car. :( 

I think a lot of it is parents not wanting to really admit that these things will never happen for their child.  Our neighbors that live kitty-corner to us across the street have a developmentally disabled child and they are always going on and on about how she's going to medical school and she's getting her driver's license soon and she's moving out when she starts college....etc,.  No parent ever wants to admit to someone else or even themselves that their child will not lead the "normal" life that they want, so they project through the kid all the things they would have wanted them to do.

I will probably have a whole list of people by the end of next week.  Uni term starts on Monday.

To start my list off I would like to have a large fish handy for anyone who doesn't use a zebra crossing properly.  People who cross it diagonally starting from somewhere tto the right of the crossing and finishing somewhere to the left, people who lurk somewhere in the vicinity but cross on the road and people who just step out to allow me to practice my emergency stop are all included.

The guy driving next to me who decided to be a goose. You know the type of person I'm
talking about, my exit was coming up and this guy was driving in the lane next to me, the
lane I needed to be in. He was staying right off my rear bumper, like geese in flight, I would
speed up to try to get in front of him, he would speed up and stayed right on my bumper.
So I slowed down to get behind him and sure enough, he slowed down and stayed right on
my rear bumper. He was driving me nuts, he would speed up slow down every time I did.  >:(
