As do I, come to think of it. But when something really eventful happens in my life, I like to write down my memories somewhere so I can reread it for future reference.

I first started keeping personal written logs of my life about 20 years ago, when I was 11. That lasted for about four years, until my interest in it waned. Actually, there did come a time when I was writing so much that I didn't have time to get it all down...so I started writing a brief synopsis of my days on little slips of paper, and that developed into a backlog. Plus, when I was 15 years old, I had less and less time for personal stuff because I had lots of homework to do each night and was often up really late.

I wrote some additional personal logs at other times in my life after that, but they were mostly about school, and I kept them going for not more than a month at a time.

In August of 2002 I did that with mine. I unpacked the box that they were in and reread through them (although it took me all day to do so) and my mind retreated to those memories. I was surprised at how large my handwriting was, even at age 11. It wasn't until I was 12 1/2 that it started to shrink down to the size that would be considered "normal." Presumably because I had lots to write about during my junior high days and I wanted to get it all in there before going out to buy another blank book. On the average, it would take me between five and six months to fill up one book.

Well...in college, you get to buy your textbooks, at the campus bookstore. Then at the end of the semester, you can sell them back (provided that they plan to use 'em again the following semester) or keep them... or even donate them to a library.

This weekend I was realizing that it had been 10 years since I began my education at the university (Cal State Northridge) en route to a Bachelor's Degree... and it was a long road for me.

I was about to go to college in 1992 but I decided I just wanted to make money and get a job so that's when I entered vocational programs and they helped me get jobs.
