I may someday need to do that, for I have been searching extensively for jobs local to me and found next to nothing. I think I need to be more open-minded about what kinds of work to search for. After all, I do have a Liberal Arts degree (which I had pursued beginning in 2005, after changing my course of study).

That degree should put you in good stead, but as for the same over here, there must be many people applying for the one vacancy.

I have found that situation several times in the past year or so. For example, a year ago I applied for a position at the local library, but hundreds of people were also applying for that very same position. I even had to take a special testing last March, with these hundreds of other people. And of course I didn't get selected for the position.

Yes, some companies have that option.
I did later apply for a job, which I eventually got (last April...I'm sure you'd probably remember that), and I was really happy about that...but the downside is that it was temporary. But at least I did something which I got paid for, and I worked in an environment with friendly people. :)

Needless to say, I didn't make much progress during the 13 months that I had a job coach...so then I decided to try looking on my own. And then I began doing volunteer work (which was unpaid, but I still wanted to do something so that I wasn't bored during the week).

That's how it was for us in our home, before we got air conditioning. When we first moved in 10 years ago, we figured we might not need A.C., since the climate in this area is usually pleasant...and we get an ocean breeze. However, when we had some brutal heat in the summer of 2004, we became convinced that we needed to invest in an air conditioner. So we got one installed in April of 2005 and have used it anytime it got hot in the house.

I've had go mail for almost 10 years so now I switched to Gmail.
I have had Gmail for about 3 1/2 years and it's been pretty reliable for the most part. But lately I've gotten spammed; anytime I get such a message, I just click the Report Spam button and away it goes.

Disney is one website I have never been too.
disney is a corporate website dealing with children, fun and games and other stuff related to children.
It also has information about the Disney parks, such as Disney World and Disneyland.

Most of mine automatically goes into a junk folder, but some of it creeps into my inbox by mistake occasionally.

Disneyland is in Los Angeles, correct?
Pretty close. It is in Anaheim, which is pretty close to Los Angeles. Some people could say that it is part of the greater Los Angeles area, which encompasses all of L.A. County, and its surrounding counties (Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino, to name a few), since there is not much open space between them. So yes, Disneyland, in Anaheim, is in the greater Los Angeles area.

Not really; he went on lots of trips. I don't know how he paid for them all; whether his work covered his expenses, or if he really earned enough to take such trips. But I would like to go to some of the places he visited, many of which have been on the East Coast. (I think he went to New York once in the 90's.)

No.
Many relatives on my dad's side of the family (mostly cousins) live in the Midwest, in states like Iowa and South Dakota. When my dad was a boy, he and his family would often take trips during the summer to that part of the US to visit his relatives.

From California? Oh yes. The ideal way to get there from where I am, is by plane... but my dad said that his parents often made the trips by driving both ways (which would take several days).

1,503 miles in one day? To do that, you'd have to travel nonstop, at a speed of 62.6 miles per hour. There is also the issue of gasoline, which you'd need to stop for every 300 or 400 miles or so.

It probably can't be done nonstop, because you would have to stop and refuel the car every 300 or 400 miles or so. I doubt that one could go 1,500 miles on a single tank of gas.

Yes, that is true. When making a long-distance trip in the car, it is best to have at least two drivers, trading off the duties every so often.

It can be dangerous to carry petrol (gas) in a can when in transit, so stopping at petrol stations will have to be done.

Possibly the best setup. Especially the navigator part, for when you're lost and traveling through an area you're not familiar with.
