I got it too...it was just a kind of 'informative' comment.  I've seen complaints , not here, about other people telling a joke. It's one of those 'niceties' that even if you insult or tell a joke to end it up with a smiley to show that it was. So, no insult was taken by me, because I have that sense of humor too and have to ... :)

I'm sick of sleeping, I wish I could energize like an IPod, plug me in to a computer, maybe update my contents now and then, and back on the road and let me play while charging so I can get more done.

true, true.  It's so easy to misinterpret someone's meaning on a post and the smileys do make up for our lack of facial expressions and body language. I'm going thru that now from a previous post & I wish there had been a smiley because I'm confused  :-\\

yes...sad, but true.
In my previous work I was in contact with a Young Single Mothers Department of a local Council, and after a series of phonecalls I could not still speak to one of the oficers. Eventually, one officer did phone back saying they are very busy. I could only laugh and saw the funny side of it and played along for a while leading the humurous conversation.

Well, here in California, there are times when the train engine breaks down/spills oil/emits some sort of a mechanical failure...and that's one of the many causes of delays. Add an intervening freight train to the mix, and....well, let's not go there. :P

I am sick of driving.  Everyone on the freeway is a maniac.  I want to be rich so I can hire a chauffeur.  Can you imagine?  Sitting in the back seat, reading novels, or posting online while somebody else drives you around town?  It would be a dream come true!  My commute to work is 45 minutes - think of the things I could do on my way!  I've looked into public transportation, but it just isn't feasible for where I live and where I work.  I wish it was...it would be so nice.

It *is* awesome.  When I was in high school, the last two years, I went to a vocational school which was a half hour drive (by school bus) away, so I usually used that extra half hour to sleep some more or do the homework that I had neglected to do the night before.  ;D  And they called us Vo-tech students dummies!  Who's the dummy if I get extra sleep in the morning?  ;D

Men, oye!  re:  the floor, get demanding, if you are gonna get old in that house, you want cork.  If you are getting out prior to 50, tile doesn't get as dirty as lino.  IMO - Lino is the crappiest flooring going.  We just went through a HUGE reno, my marriage took many twists ans turns.  I work in the industry so I won on every debate.  House value on resale was my argument, timeless choices that weren't going to be dated when we did decide to eventually sell were REALLy crucial in all my decisions.

In the UK our kitchen was tiled, but it was cold in the winter.  Here we have laminate which is a nightmare when you get a spill.  One strip has already lifted and split.  :-\\

I have tile, a lot of it, and only sub floor heating in a few areas (infront of counters in front of sinks) so I do wear slippers, also my knees ache when I've been on my feet in the kitchen for a while.  I would have done cork but I have dogs and I've ripped it out of clients homes after a year or so because dogs have destroyed it.  Also, I rearrange my furniture costantly and with a really poor return rate, I'd have dents everywhere from table legs etc.

I have a lot of tile in my house too, and I love it.  It gets cold in the winter, but I wear slippers too.  My favorite part of it is the color - it's sort of a grey-brown, so it hides dirt really well.   ;D  In my last place I had white lino that showed EVERYTHING.

That's bullcrap.  You shouldn't do it!  If she wants someone to do it she can pay someone to do it!

I guess my neighbor across the street used to do it for the lady that lived in the house that I live in now because her husband was out of town a lot.  She also used to snowblow her driveway for her.  It was crap.  She was perfectly capable of doing it herself.  I think she completly took advantage of Michelle (my neighbor) because she was a good person and the lady was a lazy ass.  I might not always enjoy mowing the lawn and shoveling the driveway, but I do it anyway.  My husband works a lot of hours, so I'm home and I just do it.
