you forget the US for all its talk about free speech is still quite prudish and conservative.  Sex and the City was about four single women in NYC who really enjoyed sex...it wasn't porn or anything but they talked about it a lot and had it alot.... not what the FCC would like to see on regular TV so it aired on HBO..... edited versions air on regular television.. I don't watch those because what's the point if you edit all the good stuff out. I have the DVDs and love Seasons 1 - 3 well maybe 4.  Season 5 sucked and season 6 well that kinda sucked too... plus it was really really short. I will be there for the film when it's released!
