Actually, I've been really trying hard to stay away from caffeine this week.  I am having my very first ever mammogram next week and they recommend not drinking caffeine or eating chocolate (it has caffeine too) the whole week before the test due to sensitivity.  :\'(

I slept like a log for a change.  Darn near 6 1/2 hours (which is amazing for me!)  Do logs actually sleep?  If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to listen, does it make a sound?  Only "you" can prevent forest fires!

How to Make a Pusser’s Painkiller

2 oz Pusser’s Navy Rum
3 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Cream of Coconut

Shake all ingredients with ice and stain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a dash, or three, of nutmeg.

This is a good drink for people who like tropical cocktails, but don’t want to order a Pina Colada because it is passe or girly. It isn’t thick and creamy, so you won’t feel bloated after a couple, and they have lots of juice so they might appeal to the healthy people. The coconut cream plays a background role that is appealing and the orange juice stands out more than I though it would, it tempers the pineapple juice.  The one thing that is mandatory in this drink is nutmeg, without it, it would be just another mixed juice and rum drink. The nutmeg gives it that something extra.

As for the rum, the Pussers makes this drink really smooth and gives it some rum character. Using a rum that is too smooth might make it disappear completely, but because Pusser’s Navy Rum has a lot of flavour it comes through. This drink could easily handle 3oz of rum, without being overpowering.

I think I'll have one too.

I think it's all working now Patty, albeit a  much trimmed down version of disco ball, and midnite toker ... which I'm not ENTIRELY satisfied with ... but .. for the time being it's the best I can come up with.

It's probably good enough ?  (Maybe I should get rid of disco ball, and revert ... any opinions ? ).

Grasshopper milkshake

    * 2 cups Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
    * 1/2 cup milk
    * 2 tablespoons crème de menthe
    * 1 miniature or broken cream filled chocolate sandwich cookie

In a blender, combine ice cream, milk, and crème de menthe. Whirl until smooth and pour into a chilled tall glass. Garnish with cookie.

PREP: Put three ice cubes in each glass and slice a wedge of orange centrally so that it clips on edge of glass.
Mix White rum, Malibu, Cointreau, Peach Schnapps and blue food colour. Shake vigorously for a few seconds and serve. Then top up glass with lemonade to desired amount.
