I finally got to meet and greet with a girl from this Friendship Network I belong to this past Sunday where people with disabilities can have a good time with each other and socialize with one another. Her name is Robin Brody,Jewish, age 24 and has Aspergers Syndrome.I had a good time with her the first run around that I'm hoping to see her again real soon and maybe Her and I can become boyfriend and girlfriend in the near future if she allows me to. :)
I can't believe I saved this from October 2004,Anyone remember that day?^ :o

I remember reading this like it was yesterday.Man,were those good times.I was so happy meeting a new girl for the first time in years and I wanted to be boyfriend/girlfriend and we did but months and a year later problems, situations involvments, attachments and feelings happened.I know that almost 2 1/2 years later I can try for hope cause I know that there is something out there.Giving up is the last thing I want to do cause I know that something is holding us back from getting together a second time and I'll find it,There is life again, just keep on praying for me. :(

What I'm doing today before my therapy is to go to C-Town which is a supermarket,I was there last year and gave in my application but nothing came about. Also a year or so ago,I remember going to Key Food for a job but the shmucky boss told me to get a copy of my Social Security ID,went home and came right back rushing like a mad animal and then told me he had 1 or 2 people ahead of me so that was the end of that,Burlington Coat Factory I also had trouble with,They told me to fill out a paper and told me to get a small physical and a urine sample at LabCorp, gave that in to BCF and I'm guessing the reason they didn't call me was because I was working near a hospital where I was volunteering so nothing came of that.CVS was another one.Robin and I filled out an application on-line in the Spring of 2005,the interview went well but the problem is I waited too long to follow up so I didn't get the job.See,that's why I have trouble and I need just a little assistance.

So try those places again Howard. Ask again at the hospital where you volunteer. I know they didn't have a place when you asked before but situations change. Is there another hospital nearby where you could also ask? What about this program you go to, do they have any suitable vacancies within their organisation?

is there a way that you could get a different job coach? Why don't you talk to your current job coach's boss and tell him/her that you aren't happy with the lack of progress....maybe they can hook you up with another job coach that will actually get something for you.

This is a cool thread! I've never seen it, but it's obviously been around a long time.
Just going out with your camera is fun. I've gotten some great pics when I wasn't even expecting to just because I had the camera in the truck with me. And I'm the type to take 200 shots in an hour and be happy if half of them are good. Photography used to be a major hobby of mine, but it's mainly cut down to weekends now, I don't get to go on as many vacations as I used to. Sunrises and sunsets are great to take pics of. I also have a cool picture of 3 clouds in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head and ears! It's also fun to go out in search of something to take pics of, I remember a friend of mine and I spent an afternoon taking pictures of as many different animals as possible just in a certain area. I had ant pictures, dogs, cats, cows, squirrels, etc. Most were silly, but it's fun if you have a couple of hours to kill on a nice day. :)
There's so much bad news in the world and so much stress, let's try to keep this thread going! We all have good things happening to us, too, I'm sure of it! :)

I've been listening to the radio all day singing everything I know and no cherry donuts, cherry coke, chocolate, or anything make me happier.

The old fashioned way, and easier. No selling on E-bay, no shipping charges, no squabbles back and forth, etc..
low maintenance.

"Break a leg"
Break a leg" is a well-known saying in theatre which means "good luck". It is typically said to actors before they go out onto stage to perform.
The expression reflects a theatrical superstition in which wishing a person "good luck" is considered bad luck. The expression is sometimes used outside the theatre as superstitions and customs travel through other professions and then into common use.

This just in:
My mom has just been hired for a part-time job!! Her former boss (who now works at the San Buenaventura Mission, in Ventura) called on the phone a little while ago and informed my mom that there was a position open, which she was well-qualified for. It involves preparation for the Christmas liturgies (religious events) at the mission. My mom is very excited about that!! She starts on Monday. :)

But have you anything to back this up or is it still your hope that the bosses will just spot what an all-round good guy you are and decide to promote you?

I asked a couple of weeks ago and I asked about an inside position and the boss said maybe after the holidays and I think he means after Christmas And New Year's.
I would like to be in charge of cleaning the small break room cause no one pays attention to it anymore,I don't think the maintainence guys give a crap about it,that's why I'm always sweeping, taking out the trash and doing some mopping of the floor in there.
