The sun came out today, finally!!!! :D :D :D This was the first rainless day in about a week. However, the rain is forecasted to return on the evening of Christmas Day, so we'll be having some additional rain on Sunday as well, and possibly Monday.

Storm has long passed - we got about 1/2 inch rain which helps. Now it is expected to be dark all night then clearing at dawn. ::)

Well, earlier this week, a weather forecast stated that the rain was going to return on the evening of Christmas Day. Well, that prediction has come true; about 5:30pm (less than two hours ago in my time zone) I looked outside and noticed that the rain had begun to fall! And it's still coming down as I am typing this post.

The rain that was forecast did not materialize on Christmas. It stayed sunny, bright and skightly on the cold side the rest of the day. A perfect Christmas day for South Texas. I guess the rain that was forcast came yesterday and was just a bit early. It has been one beautiful day but tonight it will get cold for this area but a warm up is due again soon. We die in the summer here because the heat is usually three digits from the end of June through the first part of September. The winters are great here. I have not seen snow here since 1985 and it was an all time record. 16 inches. The calendar is used here to melt the snow since we have little to no need for snow removal equipment. They sand the access roads on the expressways and close the expressways when we have ice storms which are fairoly rare as well.

Do be careful Howard. I lived in between Baltimore and DC for about 6 1/2 years and the storm that is coming up the east coast is the worst kind of winter storm for your area. Call in sick if it gets bad. Pushing carts is not worth the risk. This is a very dangerous storm and besides some of us would really miss you out here. Take care my friend. ;) and stay 8)

It's in New England already? Get comfortable, eat comfort food and watch your favorite movies. That's what I did when I lived up north in places like Pittsburgh, Maryland and Nebraska. Don't forget the hot cocoa and marshmellows.

Christie - I've lived between Baltimore and DC for about 6 1/2 years. The storms that ride up the East Coast are always the worst. You take care of yourself and stay safe and warm. Don't leave your home unless it is of the utmost urgency to do so. I've survived a few of these when I lived up there and even bought the tee shirts to prove it. I would never wish to see anything happen to you. (I'd miss your parodies). ;)
It's going down to 27F tonight in South Texas but no snow. That is cold for here.

South Texas has rain event in the forecast. Light this morning - possible thunderstorms this afternoon and more rain on Wednesday. We do need the rain however. La Niña weather pattern has left us high and dry for about the past 6 months. Rain after rain stayed north of us closest being the Dallas area. A few days before Christmas we did get about an inch of rain in a thunderstorm one afternoon. It helped but not enough.

Rain continues in South Texas. A bit more through the day tomorrow is forcast. It is helping but we could still do with some more because when it gets hot our aquafer drops like a bolder in a vacuum. So we need it now for the upcpming hot season.

South Texas 31 Dec 2010 7:00AM - Front passing through from the west with fog in the morning. Sunny this day with high of 71F. Artic blast on the way although greatly moderated this far south will drop our temps back to more normal for this time of the year. 63F at 6:00AM. Temps in the past two days are running 20 degrees F above the norm.

It will be mostly dry, but with generally overcast and leaden skies, the cloud perhaps thick enough at times to bring a little light rain or scattered showers. There will be a cold, raw northeasterly wind.

Didn't rain at all today (there was a small chance though), but there were some dark clouds overhead in the morning. Then in the afternoon, out came the sun!
Rain might return early next week though.

Dry this morning with some early sunshine, especially along the Sussex coast, but generally becoming cloudy. This afternoon outbreaks of light rain and drizzle will arrive from the north, although many places will remain dry.
