We have been baking with a high yesterday of 96 in Colorado Springs...of course the humidity is only around 10% so like people from Arizona say about thier weather...it's a "dry" heat :D

Today must have just been around the 82 mark.. certainly warmer than 77.. but then all temperature becomes meaningless in my eyes and gets reclassified as "bl**dy hot"..

And this looks like continuing for a while yet! Hurray! Summer is here, the rooves are coming off the Caddies, and I'm driving through the dusty desert sand, on my way to paradise.

I sure hope that wasn't my imagination taking over - I could spare myself from having to go to college again...

A little cooler than the past few days of mid 90's...it's 87 today...so far but those afternoon clouds are boiling up over Pikes Peak...hopefully that means some rain later on :)

We had thunderstorms come through earlier today. It was a cold front clashing with the hot front (that has been sitting over us for the past few days). I was hoping once the storms were over, it would cool down but it is STILL HOT AND HUMID!!! I hate this kind of weather. I would much rather have snow then this.

Yesterday, near my home, it was rather cloudy and grey; the sun did not come out at all. Today, there is a bit of wind, and some sun, but not much.

106F in the shade in my backyard right now.

It's looked more like winter here....although yesterday was 67 and today was about the same. Lots of rain, just what we need around here to climb out of this drought we've had since '02. It hailed in parts of town and last night thier was a tornado to the East of here.

Joseph Marcus was curled up with a book Sunday afternoon when it started hailing like crazy.

The storm rattled more than the windows of his Black Forest home north of Colorado Springs.

“My dad said: ‘That’s a funnel cloud. Run to the basement,’” he said.

Joseph, 14, had other ideas.

“I said: ‘That would make a great picture.’”

He captured it with his digital camera.

For those who saw it, the tornado near Hodgen and Steppler roads in northern Black Forest cut a path of fascination more than destruction.

The twister was on the ground for a minute, but the hail-filled thunderstorm that spawned it swirled through northeast Colorado Springs and onto the plains.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said a tornado also touched down briefly near Falcon.

No injuries were reported, but a roof was blown off a structure near Yoder, and another tornado blew through a pig farm in Bent County.

Mountain Prairie Hog Farms south of Las Animas sustained “severe damage to at least three of their sites,” according to a statement from the Bent County Sheriff’s Office.

Flying debris reportedly caused one minor injury.

In Prowers County, flash flooding Sunday evening closed state Highway 196 between Lamar and Bristol, and another tornado was reported east of Lamar.

The intensity of Sunday’s sudden storm about 1:30 p.m. took many Black Forest residents by surprise.

“It came out of the blue. It came out of nowhere. There was no warning,” said Linda Marcus, Joseph’s mother.

“It was about three miles away. We were fascinated; we kept watching,” Joseph said. “We saw dust coming up, and then it disappeared.”

The tornado was a first for the family transplanted from the East Coast.

“We had never seen one and hope never to see it again,” Linda Marcus said.

Kathy Torgerson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pueblo, said the storm stemmed from a combination of moisture and sunshine.

“It allowed the atmosphere to become unstable enough to cook up some afternoon thunderstorms,” she said.

It cooked up delays for four flights at Colorado Springs Airport about 2:30 p.m.

Some flights were delayed as long as 45 minutes because of the weather, said Gary Campbell, airport operations manager.

“Then they pushed right back out and departed,” he said.

As thunderstorm and tornado warnings were broadcast on TV and radio stations, meteorologists spared no metaphors in describing the size of hailstones being reported across the region.

Size comparisons started at nickels and quarters and grew to golf balls, hens’ eggs and even baseballs.

“Goose eggs” is how Steve Sutherland summed up the odd-shape orbs several inches deep in his Black Forest yard.

His 12-year-old daughter, Gretchen, liked watching a real tornado from the comfort of home.

“It was kind of scary,” she said. “It was pretty neat to see it.”

I like the dry heat--er, climate also.  Monsoon season has just started here.  We had a decent storm early Wednesday morning with an inch of rain.  If I had a boat I could've sailed down my street.

Well...it's actually kinda cloudy and overcast, where I'm at; the sun only seems to be poking through right about now. Not too hot at all. ;)

Well...it looks like all of you guys had rain. Not here in So-Cal though! Like I said earlier, it was overcast in the morning, but the sun actually came out in the afternoon! My mom was in Los Angeles county yesterday (Wednesday) and it was over 100 degrees. :P Given that, I'm glad I was home all day. ;)

It's dry and sunny at the moment but we've had a mix all week of bright sunshine then very heavy rain.  Hope the weather's better next week when I'm on holiday.

Still DRY!  It is till supposed to be winter but tomorrow's forecast is 27c with a high fire danger!

So humid it is hard to breathe and pouring rain, it's supposed to be like this for the next couple of days.

Denver got most of the bad stuff yesterday....it rained 3 inches in 30 minutes! Here in Colorado Springs it's cloudy and drizzly..the high is only supposed to reach 59 degrees today ::) Feels more like October!

Where we are, we have just had severe rainstorms over the past few days but in poor Boscastle, Cornwall (not too far from where I live) people's businesses and houses have been ruined. We are very fortunate that no one was killed.

Pretty good, thanks very much, Bobby...I did manage to squeeze one or two good days in there - rather thankfully, I wasn't under a tent...!!

And a lovely little place Polperro is, too - touristy, yes - but done in a tasteful way...worth a visit before a heaving great pile of water goes steaming through it...!!

Yes, we went to Polperro just after a flood and I thought it was a bit boring (I'm a bit of a 'townie' though). Still, I remember having some lovely scones with clotted cream (yummy!)

I hate humidity. It makes you feel all sticky and miserable. It's even worse when it's spitting because you are left with the dilhemma of whether to wear a coat out or not. :(

^^^ Well, there hasn't been any rain in So-Cal. At this time of year it's normally hot. I was in Northridge today for the first day of school and it wasn't too bad weatherwise. I was expecting it to be hot (like it normally is in the Valley, especially during summer), but we did have a bit of a breeze. So overall, it was sunny today. :) 8)

well, i live in saint john, new brunswick, canada, and if anyone knows where that is and what the weather is like here then i hope you feel sorry for me. we have had maybe three consecutive nice days and then rain, but on the nice days it would be foggy until about 5 or 6 and then the sun would come out at the end of the day.

karen, Celsius makes sense as 0 is freezing, instead of Farenheit's 32 being it....BUT it's the opposite of you for me...I can't get used to a hot Summer day being a high in the 30's-40's :-\\

In Northridge, at the university, it was real hot today. :P As I was on the shuttle bus from the campus to the train station, I happened to pass by a big sign with an electronic marquee that displays the time and temperature; it said 104 (That's degrees Fahrenheit, which is most commonly used in the United States.); this was at about 4:45 in the afternoon.

Hot one day...cold the next  ???

It's supposed to be hot again today...which doesn't surprise me.

The weather people just said that this Summer was the coolest one ever! Our "mean" tempurature was only 64 degrees...we had a LOT of rain though and we needed it after suffering through a drought since the Summer of 2000.

Today is expected to reach only 65 but tomorrow it'll be back in the 70's....yesterday it was 89.
