The light comes on so there is some electricity getting to the tower. It usually beeps when it is firing up. (The funny thing is, the old computer would beep when it locked up-made me nervous at first.) It is not beeping-signaling that it is firing up.

Let us know what happens when you bring it in to have it checked out.  If it's not making crazy screetching noises, then the hard drive probably isn't dead. ( I know it's brand new)

DYHIW - Your husband takes 6 years on upstairs project and it still not done.  You started a kitchen project.  Your house is torn up (upstairs and kitchen), and you have no lights in bedrooms, kitchen or bathroom, the fridge is in the living room, flooring is in my dining room (in boxes mind you), we can't eat as a family, dust is everywhere (upstairs and down), you try and work on the upstairs to get a room done (hubby jumps to next room and next room, without finishing 1 and runs out of cauk), and the kids don't want to come home from friends because the house is messy and no toy room or lights and they're bored...

Hmm.... valid argument. I guess I shouldn't judge others, lest I be judged myself. I guess this also counts towards trying to force others into religion..... I still find it hard to have consideration for those whose souls are bound for hell... I guess prayer will help.

The only person those prayers will help is you. No reason for you concern yourself with the future disposition of anyone elses soul. The only person you are responsible for is you. If you ever become a parent you'll also be responsible for your children but once they are old enough to think for themselves that's something they should be allowed to decide for themselves.

You're right, it's just hard for me not to try to bring God into others' lives... God loves everyone, but when His love isn't returned, we clearly have a problem. I guess I should be more worried about myself, but I'm accountable for how my life has influenced others as well.

Just to be clear Jeff... when you talk about something that occurred so long ago and talk about it with enough recall like it was yesterday, and then you qualify it with a phrase like '21 years later I still can't figure out why' then you absolutely give the impression that you've given the incident more weight in your life than it's worth.

Howard, get proper clothes.  They have all sorts of under armour stuff and northland, rei (rated for -40 below).  They will wick wetness away, and keep your hands warm and dry.  All else, buy 2 pairs and change them out after a few hours.  Spend some of your moldy money you are making there, and buy proper clothes for the outside.  I have carhart full jumpsuit, bibs, and jacket from when I worked outside for the city shoveling/blowing city lots and sidewalks.  They make all sorts of stuff, you need to invest in it!

I feel your pain.  I took animal science in high school.  We took a field trip to watch them artificially inseminate dairy cattle.  The teacher was a first year and it took him a minute to understand why we couldn't stop laughing when he told us they did it by hand so that the male didn't go to mate with the female and miss and break his member.  I have never seen a teacher blush before. ;D

I loved that class, though.  We had to raise chickens as a project...it was a blast.  It was a pretty fun class.  I even joined FFA that year because of all the hot cowboys that were in the club from class.  Yeah, I have never lived anywhere near a farm, just joined for the guys.  I had priorities. :D

I have never been smacked (or thrown anything at). We had a teacher smack a kid upside the head when he launched a chalk board eraser at him; kid had chalk dust in his ear all day.  Another teacher took a kid out in the hall with a ruler (the only time I had ever seen this happen - a kid getting smacked; but she did not do it in front of us) - but she hit him so hard the ruler broke and 1/2 of it came flying back in the door (HILARIOUS - but we the class were quiet as church mice, no one wanted that to be them).

O0  FFA is not just for farmers.  Hey I never lived on a farm till I got married  ::)

and he really told you that was why they did it by hand.  Not because you could get better genetics, and it was physically safer than keeping a dairy bull (let alone 5-10) in your herd :P

Wow thanks for sharing Dagny O0
