I hate when people Leap before they Look.

or to put it in more understandable words. people who dont look at what they are getting into or read the rules before they attempt to join something.

for example I run a group that requires all aplicants to state that they have read the rules and agree to abide by them. in the past 2 months I have had over 40 applications. and only 2 actually stated the information requested. *sigh*

and a close second:
People who THINK they are above the rules and can do whatever they want.

It's ok Howard; I don't think it's all that big a deal; I only had 782. We can build up our post counts again; I've been registered here for almost 24 hours and already I have over 100 posts. And I notice that our "rankings" are different too.

I really hate when I call somewhere (usually someone's office) and when they aren't there and I really don't want to leave a message, I hang up before their machine kicks on. But then, my phone rings and I am still connected to that number that I dialed (or punched in since you don't "dial" anymore) and I end up hearing their machine. Sometimes I get two or three ring-backs.  >:(

People who just totally abandon you after telling you five minutes previously that they're not going to abandon you.

People who beat me in Scrabble games! Arrgh. (Not that that's happened in a good long time!)

I hate it too, NullandVoid. Here's my version:

Ripp: Ok, Gotta go now, soz
Chat-4-eva: What time?
Ripp: Tomorrow at 9:00pm, bye! :)
Chat-4-eva: What room shall we chat in?
Ripp: You know Lounge-Time? Shall chat in there along with Murky_Missy, k?
Chat-4-eva: Murky_Missy? But she's really horrid to me, she always calls me a chatterbox. Does she have to?
Ripp: YES. I promised her she's nice to me, now BYE!
Chat-4-eva: No stay can't we invite Hell&Fath21 and 55_Pocket_Penny?
Chat-4-eva: Hello?
Chat-4-eva: /find = Ripp = codenumber = 3027
: Ripp codenumber 3027 is not logged on. Message left for Chat-4-eva: "Murky_Missy is correct on calling you a chatterbox! GET LOST!"
Chat-4-eva: /message = Ripp "You're an idiot"
Next day on Chat-Box
: Chat-4-eva has left Ripp a message: "You're an idiot"

Then that ****s me off

We used to have this small weight/aerobic workout room at the office.  Anyway, a foreign guy started working out there with his girlfriend, and neither of them would ever wash their gym clothes.  They put on the same stinky stuff every day, and it was getting very RANK.  >:(

I mean it was so bad it was like being punched in the nose when they came into the room.  Made me wonder if someone could actually die from a bad smell.  ???

Well, I went upstairs to the laser printer and made this big sign that said "I am barely Breathing..." asking the (anonymous) persons who were stinking up the place to take a bath and wash their clothes.

That fixed it.  Nobody had to be "confronted" and the stink went away.  Everyone at work was wondering who posted those signs, but I never told.  ;D

...your favorite TV programs get interrupted/preempted by a Special Report?

I know I mentioned this on the thread on the old board, but I hate it when regularly scheduled programming is interrupted by something that can't wait until the regular news. On the other hand, if there was something very important going on in the world, I can understand it.

or when a news flash runs across your screen? >:(

Heck, hubby's cousin got married 4 years ago and we spent about $100 on a gift for the "happy couple" and never got squat!!!

I gave my cousin and her new husband $500 for their wedding.  Figured it would help them start out, especially since they have a 3-year old kid.  I know they got the dough because I have the cancelled check.

No thank you note.  No email.  No phone call.

There's an easy way to avoid that.

Just hold your breath until you pass out, then your autonomic nervous system will take care of resuming the breathing1.  :P

Yeah, well I was mentioning it yesterday because we went to the Ventura harbor village to walk around/get some fresh air/etc., but just about every space was taken, so we had to park across the street at the beach area, but that was okay. When you wake up in the morning and your arm feels like it was novocained? :P

Howard

I know; that's what happens when you sleep on it; your arm goes to sleep. See, doing that cuts off the blood circulation; hence, your arm's gonna feel funny. I try not to do that, but we all do sometimes; what can I say? ::)

Sometimes I do that too (put my arm under my pillow unintentionally and wake up to find it numb). I have to move it all around until it's fully "awake".

When you got o the dentist for a checkup and he finds a filling that needs replaced, them makes youset up a second appointment.

You then get the second appointment and it took like 3 minutes to drill and fill.  Why not just do it all at once??

I tried Simply White and it did nothing for me.  The only thing I know that works are the Crest Whitestrips.  Some of my friends have used them and they're teeth are whiter.  I haven't tried them yet myself.  I'm waiting until I get all my dental work done first.

If you want your teeth really white find a dentist that uses a product called, "Zoom".  It's a whitening system that last a lot longer than Crest Whitestrips and other bleaching agents & it's very affordable.  When you take the cost of the over the counter remedies & how often you need to use them, it's way more expensive to do it yourself.

Nally, where I live here in South Bend it is like a Third World country in terms of power blackouts.

Hey, I was just out your way on Wed & Friday.  Luckily, we missed the accident on 80/94 because we got off at Portage.  I hate rain.  We finally get a "family vacation" and it rains the entire time >:(

80s_cheerleader,

I used to live about a quarter-mile from the Portage exit.  8)

I tell you what, getting from South Bend to Chicago is getting to be hopeless anymore.  On Thursday near Cline Avenue, you could not get on 80/94.  So I took the 90 Toll Road and it was jammed up at Gary.  :-\\

Of course the Skyway was down to one friggin lane at the bridge, as part of the "always under construction" project there.  And last Sunday when I took 94 all the way into Chicago, it was all Jammed for 2 miles before Stoney Island.  >:(

Downtown weather on Thirsday was pretty good though.  :)

I'm gonna start taking the South Shore train into town.

A total heartbreaker, Bobo. We were ahead 1-0 for most of the game and in the last 3 minutes, Zidane scored a free kick and then, what was Gerard doing passing back to the goalkeeper? Unbelievable.

I think the game changed for the worse when Beckham missed a penalty. Just bad luck that's all.

I think England were still celebrating their goal for the rest of the match, but that's just me. Becks shouldn't have missed that penalty. I've seen England more sharper than that, Vile. We seemed to be complacent (despite defending well until the end). As for the goals, I'm not too sure James (the goalkeeper) could have done too much about them. Zidane's shoot from a free-kick was a very good one and the penalty, well, Zidane sent him the wrong way - I'm gonna keep saying this, what was Gerard doing passing back to the goalkeeper with French players hanging around the goalmouth?  :o

I'm sorry to hear that PoP.  Lupus is extremely hard to diagnose and is often overlooked.  Unfortunately, many are not diagnosed until what happened to your mother in law happens to them.  Is she on anything now, like prednisone or methotrexate?  I have been lucky that not too much damage was done the years that I went undiagnosed and untreated, and have been in remission for about 4 years now.  It's not easy to stay that way, I've had to give up alot of things I love,   :-\\ but hey, for my life it's worth it.

I'm glad to hear you are in remission. :)  She took Prednisone for a while & it made her really sick, so now she has turned to alternative medicine/healing practices which help her get through it.

There are alot of side effects both short and long term associated with Pred.  Tell her to ask her dr about Plaquinil.  It's milder than pred and has the least amount of side effects. I took pred for a short time and my system could not tolerate it.  Is the alternative medicine helping her?  I hope she starts to feel better soon.  You can live a full life with lupus, you just have to get on the right track and keep it under control.  There are alot of really good websites out there that give alot of information.  Some have messageboards very much like this one where fellow lupies give each other support and trade information.  Some of the people on those boards know more than the drs! They helped me tremendously when I was first diagnosed and for years after that.

Oh yeah, don't you hate it when you don't win the Powerball jackpot and you have to put off that trip for a few more days?  ::)

I hate it when my mother knows 3 different people who hit the lottery for over $5,000,000 each, and I am not one of them.  :P
