Subject: Mitt Romney

Written By: MrCleveland on 10/10/11 at 2:51 pm

I want to ask about the 2012 Republican Nominees, the two leaders are...Rick Perry and Mitt Romney.

I must ask...why is Romney unlikeable and may be bad for our country? (And please don't say that he's a Mormon or Republican, I must know a little deeper details).

He's a bloodthirsty capitalist, that's why I don't want him for President.

He was CEO of Bain Capital, a firm that specialized in hostile buyouts of other companies which destroyed middle and working class jobs by the thousands.  He thinks corporations are people and people are widgets.  When asked about the growing gap between rich and poor, he feebly replied "Everybody should be rich."  The inanity is appalling.  The economy of Massachusetts didn't grow when he was governor.  He did institute Commonwealth Care in Massachusetts, but that's not all it's cracked up to be.  Romney was born rich and he's only gotten richer.  He has no true understanding of economic deprivation and what it does to communities and individuals.

I couldn't care less what his religion is.

Have to admit I didn't like the way in '08 he called Obama "Osama" as though it was a slip of the tongue.  From the expression on his face, he knew *exactly* what he was going to say.

As I said on this forum a little while back - McCain was selected at least in part because he wasn't Mitt Romney.  If McCain made such a poor showing (OK, at least in part because he's an honorable sort of chap, a failing that Romney doesn't have), why on earth would anyone want Romney now?  Except possibly because there isn't a decent (and I use that in both senses of the word) candidate for the Repubicans to unite behind.

Romney changes his position on issues as often and most people change their underwear.
