Subject: Lent 2011

Written By: MrCleveland on 03/09/11 at 1:57 pm

Lent is a time where you make a sacrifice of something. It could be Facebook, It could be Beer, but for me it's spending.

I thought I would get a car by this month, but since I'm STILL a little shaky on solo driving and I don't have much money to pay the gas...it won't happen until Easter.

Would any of you sacrifice this site for Lent? (Just saying...)

I still have the residue of ashes on my forehead from this morning's service!

The past couple years, I've given up certain tv programs, cuz I'd felt that I'd watched them too much. I'll probably do that again this year.

I went last night (as Ash Wednesday was yesterday in Australia). I intend to use Lent as an opportunity to 'clean up' my act (without getting into details).

I decided (just last night) that I will never be truly at peace (and therefore happy) unless I return to my faith. My conscience was formed in the Catholic tradition...and I have tried to break away...but all it has resulted in is unhappiness. When I live according to how my conscience was formed...I am happier and more positive.

This is not for everybody (I do get that)...but it seems essential for me.
