(from the Associated Press by Eric Stetson)
"James Tobin, President Bush's New England campaign chairman, has stepped down after state democrates accused him of involvement in the jamming of theit telephone lines on Election Day in 2002..."
Seems that Chuck McGee, former GOP state executive director, paid a telemarketing firm $15,600 to computer call state Dem get out the vote phone lines on election day (he pleaded guilty), and admitted "speaking with an un-namer Nation GOP official about the jamming." State Dems are accusing Tobin as being that man. The Repub won the governorship in a very close race.
In a related Associated Press article by Diedtra Henderson titles Scary Election Day Scenarios - another Florida or worse , Henderson raises a number of possible ways the voting will lead to all sorts of post election tramites (Chilean Spanish for headachs, loosely translated). Be ready for a long night and a disputed election.
