Subject: windbags at the convention
Written By: saver on 07/28/04 at 11:41 pm
And the list goes on and on.........
Chris Matthews, Jeanine Garafalo,Larry King, Al Sharpton....
Notice how the Dems. have triedto keep the 'new' position at the convention and they bring out Sharpton to talk about the 100 acres and the mule,John Mellancamp to bring back that good old music and reference Bushs' old ways of running things without a direction/defense that THEY want to promote?
WHY is it anyone should vote for Kerry????
He certainly is against standing up against a 'defeat the terrorist' program with force. Oh, we'll just talk with them....
Will he change again on Thursday....we'll see which way the wind blows......

And, I'm sure the Repubicans will have much more interesting things to say.::)
You wish :D
Why vote for Kerry? He's not Bush ;D
And that, my friend, is the only reason why Kerry is even a viable candidate ;)

When somebody sticks a knife in your back, the first thing you need is someone to pull the knife out. That's what Kerry's primary order of business will be, a knife puller-outer.
Furthermore, it's hard for me to believe adults are actually buying this "War on Terror" jive!

Oh, and for the record, I could give a rat's @ss who's speaking at the conventions as I'm not watching them as I think they're all a big waste of time and taxpayer funds!!! ($15 mil to each party)
I'm not watching either. You don't learn anything new...they aren't trying to convince anyone at the convention...they are preaching to the choir. I am sure that the Repub convention will have its share of windbags, too.

I agree 80's cheerleader. I don't know much about Kerry even though he's a senator from my homestate but at least he's not Bush!  So far it's the only reason I'm voting for him.

While I must say that this characterization and these distortions really gual me, I will control my hot latino emotions and respond like a good, reserved New Englander.
Al Sharpton's point was that since the end of reconstruction (1877, the result of another stolen election) the republican party has ignored the black population BIG TIME. Republicans passed, and forced on the south, the Civil War amendments which offered the hope of equality to black people, and then, after 1877, proceeded to ignore them. It was Harry Truman who made the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision perminant and desegregated the armed forces. It was LBJ who signed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. It was JFK who called Martin when he was in jail. It was the democratic party that encouraged black people to run for office. No wonder Lill' Georgie told the Urban League that republicans had some work to do. They do, BIG TIME.
In terms of fighting terrorism, I, for one, would much prefer someone with both a bronze and silver star and three purpal hearts, who is also thoughtful, well read, and intelligent to a sniviling coward who hid out defending Texas from Oklahoma (or was it Mexico?).
While I admit that Kerry was not my first choice, I must disagree with others who see him only "not Bush". His choice of Edwards speaks to both his political savey and his intelligence. His desire to rebuild alliances and friendships in the world does likewise.
Sharpton's speach, along with Dean's and Edwards's will go down in history as brilliant political discourse, and I suspect that John Kerry will become one of the best presidents we have ever had (even though he is a bit "stiff"). Being president isn't about being "fuzzy" but about being smart.
The windbags, by the way, are all on the Fox network.

Sean Hannity put it best, the ''re-invention convention.''
Why is it that the only time you hear of John F. Kerry's voting record its because the republicans are mentioning it, John Kerry cannot run on his horrible 19 year senate voting record or he'll lose and big time. Its like dog crap, the dog wants to pretend its gone but he still leaves it behind, John Kerry wants to pretend he was never in the senate but he just can't leave his record behind.
What would happen if John Kerry did the Dr. Phil show?
Announcer: And now on cBS the doctor is in.
Dr. Phil: I'm doctor and today we're going to try to get John Kerry to come out of his shell.
John Kerry: Well...I...um...
Dr. Phil: Now John you can't hide in a closet forever, so come on and let it out.
Kerry: Okay...I am a li...b..e..ra...l......
Dr. Phil: Now come on John and say it like you mean it.
Kerry: I am a LIBERAL!
Dr. Phil: Now lets give John Kerry a hand and show him we accept who he is.
(crowd booing)
Kerry: I knew this wouldn't work....
(crowd booing)
Dr. Phil: You know what John, maybe you should have just kept that to yourself. Join us next time when we will have John McCain and we find out what he really stands for. Bye-bye.
Announcer: Coming up on cBS Michael Moore asks his liberal friends ''if Bush is as bad as we say he is why do we keep saying it?'' Serious questions answered on cBS...BS....BS....

That's why I laugh when the Republicans and their media running dogs call the GOP "The Party of Lincoln."
After Sharpton's speech you had twerps like Howard Fineman and Ron Reagan, Jr., badmouthing him and saying he was "only in the race for Al Sharpton." You had Ku Klux Hannity blustering about how that kind of talk would never be accepted at a Republican convention. Hey, fug them! I loved it when, Sharpton was shouting, "The African American vote is not for sale!!," just as I loved it when Al Gore bellowed, "He (George Bush) BETRAYED his country!!," and when Howard Dean hollared, "I don't want to listen to the Fundamentalist preachers ANYMORE!, I don't want to listen to Rush Limbaugh ANYMORE!..."
Right on, I'm tired of Casper Milquetoast Democrats. We had that with Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, and in 2000 with Al Gore. What did it get us? Two lost elections, and one stolen one!
BTW, I will never in my life forget Pat Robertson at the GOP convention in 1992, shouting, "Clinton wants to put HO-MO-sexuals into the White House!, and Clinton wants to put HO-MO-sexuals into the military!!!"

If Hannity had to stand toe to toe and DEBATE (not ridicule and shout over) anybody on the Left, he's be running for cover inside of five minutes. The man is a meathead. I can't believe ANYBODY takes him seriously...but they do.

(Michael Moore is by far worse, whats scary is not his political beliefs but that people believe him!)
Any way, Sean Hannity did win an argument with Al Franken a few days ago. I mean Hannity KILLED him, it wasn't even close, it got to the point where Al Franken was just shouting insults like an idiot. Only the most hardcore kool-aid drinking liberal could say Franken won that. I'm not saying Hannity isn't defeated by liberals, he certainly is by Alan Colmes every now and then, but score that duel to Hannity.
Also did you know that in Al Franken's ''Lies and the lying liars that tell them'' he says Hannity is lying when he talks about Al Franken being escorted out of the building because he was yelling at Hannity during Hannity and Colmes? BUT Hannity saw him escorted, Alan Colmes saw it, and Hannity says he has 4 different witnesses besides him and Alan who also saw it. So Al Franken writes a book about liars and he lies to? No wonder he is on the cover....

To those who are staunch Bush supporters:
I want you to give me five domestic policies Bush has put into place and fought for.
Sorry, being a president overwhelmingly includes Domestic issues, not just terrorism and a war as the sole presidential duty.

Where's Dubya's voting record? Oh, that's right, he LOST the election in 78 for Congress. Oh, and what was that about "limiting government" in his campaign for Gov. of Texas? Sure doesn't look like that's the "belief" now ::)
In texas it includes presiding over 1 of the most polluted states in the union, with one of the lowest expenditures on education, one of the highest child poverty rates etc. But I guess they wount mention that stuff, just as they will ignore Lil' Georgie's "military" record.

I avoid Hannity so not to be hypnotized but he did bring up how during Bushs' service the unemployment rate has gone way down and did wayy better than when Clinton was in office and many other economic issues thanks to GWB. Do you know anybody who is NOT better off since Bush came into office? I still have a job, I still see kids in schools with grants,I see people getting by with over 1 million more open job opportunities...

I know a lot of people in computers, construction, public service, and unskilled labor who are having a terrible
time. Unemployment isn't way down, the number of people able to collect benefits are down, they do not
count the people who have exhausted their benefits and are now depending on friends and family to see them through. The kids you see with grants in schools are from increasingly higher income brackets, the working
class and poor are not able to go in the numbers they once did. The million more job opportunities that are
are lower paid with less benefits. The federal income index came out with a fiqure of 9% DECREASE in
real wages since the advent of the Bush administration. You still have a job? You are one of the lucky ones,
ask yourself what you would do to hold on to it if push came to shove.

Are you kidding, or did you sleep through the resession and the net lose, to date, of over 1 MILLION jobs? That's still the figuire even after a few good quarters. I heard esstimates that in order to just keep pace with population grown we need to create over 100,000 jobs per year, on the other hand. And Clinton, since you mentioned him, left office with a budget surplus for the first time in dacades, and we now face record deficits, with no end in sight. Environmental protections have been weakend through changing regulations, and we are mired in I a stupid war we didn't have to fight while Al Quida gets stronger. Thanks a lot "president" Bush.
