During this 24-hour period it shall be perfectly legal for anyone over the age of 18 to walk around stark raving naked if they so choose. I think that this would help to solve America's problems with obesity, because I think it would inspire millions of Americans to lose weight so they can look good in the nude.

I must commend (but don't endorse) anyone who goes about naked (regardless of physical shape). It must take a lot of guts to do something you are not really conditioned to do.  :)

They only last as long as the star is popular, so what do they do afterward?

Just an idea that the mags that do the naked radio people and naked Hooters workers can get some great $$ by doing the naked Look-a-likes.

I have absolutely nothing against nudity. I can't say that I am proud of how I look without clothes on but I am not ashamed of it either. But, I am not an exhibitionist. When we are out on the boat, I wear as little clothing as possible. I'm sure I gave some guy a great show one time when I was on deck topless. I have also been to a nude beach before.

I went out to lunch one day in the town I used to live in, I looked out the window and saw three women walking across the parking lot topless. The guy I was with almost fell out the window as he kept watching them.  ::)  We told the waitress about it and she said, "Oh, did they come this way?" We didn't realize there was a topless parade that day. Men and women marching down the street topless. One woman I used to work with said that those people had no respect for their bodies. I thought just the opposite. They had much respect for their bodies and were not ashamed of it. More power to them. But, I don't think I could do that-mainly because who knows if I would have ran into someone I knew.  :-[

Actually, I have another suggestion, a bit less risquee.  Richard Henry Lee's resolution for independance was passed on July 2, 1776.  Jefferson's (with help from Franklyn and Adam's) document was approved, after about 1/3 was deleted, on the 4th.  Why not celebrate both days?  And since 1 day back at work would be unproductive anyway, take the 3rd too.  Call it National Birthday Week and do it right!

As to Naked Day(s), make it August 1-7, National Naked, anti Puritanism week.  The fundamentalists would s..t bricks.

Unless I'm very mistaken, there already IS an International Nudist Day (or whatever they call it) on June 5th. So we're one month belated. :-\\
However, it's still illegal to undress or be naked in public around the globe (maybe with a few exceptions that I don't know of), so that battle is still on!

I say if people want to parade around naked, more power to them.  My husband and I went to a clothing optional beach in St. Martin and it was great!

Awww dang, I missed Nekkid Day. It would have been a bit impractical anyway, I was at work in an orifice office. I think it's sad that we've been made to feel ashamed of our naked bodies, like nudity is somehow unnatural- I think this 'shame' effect is magnified in urban areas. I was on holiday in rural Wales recently, just wore shorts (not even shoes) everywhere, no-one batted an eyelid, even in supermarkets etc. If I were to do that in the town that I live in, people would think I'm mentally ill!

While many years ago I found my youngest's mother attractive in the nude, right now, the thought is...unnerving?  Now Cat in the nude is a totally differant question.  Like I like it every day.  Just look at her avitar, she does look lioke that - mostly.  A lucky man am I.

Just found out that it's called World Naturist Day - and it was indeed celebrated on June 5th.


Since this is also my birthday I guess I come by my inhibitions regarding superflous garments natural.
