it's supposed to be seven years to one, but i routinely hear of dogs living to like, 160 in that case. our last dog lived to be EIGHTEEN. that would be, what, 126.

Yeap 126 does equal 18 x 7.

I heard it was 7 years to 1 for the first several years and then the rate slows, but I'm not too sure at what rate. I think that makes sense. Cats and dogs have about the same life-span. I think the record for the oldest cat (and possibly a dog, too) is about 30 years.  :o  The cats I have had in the past had died at the ages of 15-18, which is a ripe old age for cats.

Heh...when I was little, I had a dog, but even when it was grown, it tried to jump in people's laps and generally behaved like a puppy...plus it ate practically everything in sight, so my parent's gave them away to one of their friends...and then my parent's friends had to give him away to a trucker because he was eating their chickens.  ;D

Currently managing two teams on two games. On Champ Man 4 i'm manager of Wolves. We're top of the first division (The championship - the game's set in season 02/03), seven points ahead of Nottingham Forest, Coventry and Rotherham. On the more recent game (Football Manager 2006), i'm managing Charlton. We're 9th in the prem after 5 games (won 2 drawn 1 lost 2)

Bloody hell! We've won the last 3 league games, unfortunately we lost 2-0 to Tottenham in the FA Cup, but our last victory was a good one!...

We were playing Burnley at home, and Dean Sturridge scored twice in the first twenty minutes, but both goals were unfairly disallowed! What followed is something I have NEVER experienced whilst playing any Championship Manager or Football Manager game...

Kenny Miller opened the scoreline with a goal on 30 minutes

9 minutes later Kevin Nicholson scored an own goal, making it 2-0 to Wolves!

3 goals in 5 minutes from Dean Sturridge and Colin Cameron made the score at half time Wolves 5 0 Burnley  ;D

(But wait, it gets better!...)

6 minutes into the second half and Dean Sturridge scores his 4th (but only his second allowed) goal of the match, followed just 7 minutes later by 18-year-old Kenny Miller's second

Then at 72 minutes, Sturridge catches the Burnley goalkeeper off his line and scores his hat-trick, and Wolve's 8th goal!  ;D

Finally, 92 minutes into the game Kenny Miller scored his hat-trick, but the goal was again disallowed

So the final score was Wolves 8 - 0 Burnley, but had all the goals been allowed, it would've ended up 11-0  ;D

What a game!!!  :D

We're first in the league (14 points or so ahead), Burnley are bottom. But even when i've been manager of Liverpool and i've been playing second division teams the most i've won by is 4 or 5 goals, so this was a pleasant surprise

The tactics are well-researched and they're based around the real-life teams in the prem and the lower leagues. So you may win one team 3-1, but you may lose to another by 1-0. It all depends on the players, the tactics and the position of the team in the league and how everyone's morale is.

Hopefully not Spurs?

Windows Media Player 10 is acting ghey.  When I rip a CD, it should get the information about the album and artist, but it is coming up as unknown, so I have to go back and label the songs.

I'm ripping Sea Change by Beck, in case you wanted to know.

I discipline every one of my players for playing a quite frankly disgusting game of football against Ipswich, who are 13th in the league. We should be thankful we got a draw. If we play like that against 2nd place Rotherham, we don't stand a chance  >:( >:( >:(

Threaten them with a cut of wages if they lose?

No need. They started off pretty poorly, when one of our strikers missed a penalty. went in at half time 0-0. Then we got another chance at a penalty, and we scored. It took them only 3 minutes to equalise. I brought off some diappointing players and replaced them, then we scored two more goals before the end of the match. 1-3 to us and 3 more points in the bag. We're something like 15 points in the lead now...

correction: 18 points ahead of second-place Gillingham, and we're now guaranteed a playoff place, even if we lose the remaining 10 games

Morning all. Yes, I know it's almost 3pm over here but I was up until 3am playing on championship manager last night  :-[

In case you're wondering, I bought some good new players. Definsive midfielder Djetou, defenders Morgan and Sinclair, attacking midfielder Partridge and goalkeeper Mart Poom. I also got Chico and Hughes on free transfer.

We lost our first premiership home game of the season to man united 1-2, which actually isn't too bad considering they won the prem last season, and it was 1-1 up until the 89th minute...

We're away to Bolton next

True story:

I knew this guy who told me that he had a patent pending. Cool, I thought and asked him what it was for. He told me that he couldn't tell me until he got the patent approved. Ok, I could see that. Then a few weeks later he told me that the patent came through and he could tell me. I was wondering what kind of new fangled thing was going to hit the market and I can say, "I knew him when...".  Then he told me: "You know how when you start up your car in the morning and you can't get the cassette player to work because it is cold? Well, I invented a heater to warm up the cassette player so you don't have to wait until the car warms up."  At the time I didn't even have a cassette player in my car and this was during the rise of CD players. I thinking to myself that I think he wasted his time and efforts getting this patent.

So, let me ask this of everyone:  Do you have one of those or even have ever HEARD of such a thing?

Q. If you try to fail and succeed, what have you done?

Q. How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Q. Why is the time when the traffic is slowest called rush-hour?

Q. What's the speed of dark?

Q. If you run backwards will you gain weight?

Q. What happens when you get scared half-to-death twice?

Q. Can a colourblind person feel blue?

Q. If your vacuum cleaner really sucks, is it a bad thing?

Put a tear in the time/space continuum.
Q. How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?
Because men think they can do everything. If I were allowed to build the fire instead of my hubby,it would be done in a second!

You have succeeded in failing - I know, i'm an expert!  ;D

Q. How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?
Depends on evnvironment - forest fires tend to start during hot summers days or during droughts

Q. Why is the time when the traffic is slowest called rush-hour?
Because everyone's rushing home from work at the same time

Q. What's the speed of dark?
Darkness does not have a speed

Q. If you run backwards will you gain weight?
Yes, you are still burning calories

Q. What happens when you get scared half-to-death twice?
You urinate profusely

Q. Can a colourblind person feel blue?
Yes, da ba de da ba di

Q. If your vacuum cleaner really sucks, is it a bad thing?
Depends if you mean metaphorically or literally. Metaphorically, yes. Literally, no

Harshness!

I did not. I hate covers, they're usually awful pop rubbish.

Examples of good songs ruined by crap artists/groups:
G4 - Bohemian Rhapsody
Take That - How Deep Is Your Love?
Atomic Kitten - Eternal Flame
Will Young - Light My Fire
G-G-G-G-G-G-Gareth Gates - Unchained Melody

There are millions more really bad covers. The only good one i've heard is the Futurehead's cover of 'hounds of love'. And No Doubt's cover of 'It's My Life' was okay, too

For me the appeal is that everything has a history, or a secret. And as the series progresses you learn more and more about the characters and their environment. It's gripping stuff!

Any American Lost fans want to give me some clues? (hint hint)

Fair enough

I don't see why Lost isn't more popular than it is... people say that it's boring and too slowly paced.. but the episodes and plot are so well written I can't stop watching it!...

I agree with more time to expand on the storyline will develop thus making more intriguing. Yes, the first episode was powerful.

The opening scene where Jack is running around helping everyone.... has to go down as one of the greatest opening scenes ever... seriously. I just watched it again not long ago... it still took my breath away!

Also, like I mentioned before, the scene in the second episode where Kate and the Marshall are in the plane and the end rips off... that's another stand-out scene

Dogs do, in fact, dream. Many people observe their dogs twitching, moving their legs or making noises while sleeping and this is typically because they are dreaming. In fact, though dogs tend to dream for shorter periods of time than people, they tend to do so with more action. You can see dogs making chewing motions, licking or moving their lips and whiskers while dreaming, moving their feet and legs like they're running, and even making yipping noises.
