The thing I do not understand is that the game is being shown on terrestrial TV (ITV) and can be watched at home. It is on SkySports too.

In another life on another (now defunct) messageboard, I had my wrists slapped by people who were elsewhere at the time of the match and were recording it, and were not wishing to know the score.

Check your options. It could be an 800 number, then the rate is supposed to be free in country but still probably less than calling straight dial rate to a residential number.

We had no noticed the Ketchup girls were due to be on, Terry Wogan said the best thing "Spain has never got the hang of Eurovision".
It was a very poor performance indeed. Other countries that did bad this year: Malta (last place with only one point), Israel and France.

You mean Paul de Leeuw..? He's very famous in The Netherlands for his controversial tv shows. He's also had 14 Top 40 hits in the past 15 years. One of his most famous is a parody of "the" Eurovision Song Contest song ("Vlieg Met Me Mee", that is: "Fly With Me"). He has a serious side too, believe it or not. His biggest hits were ballads.

Nowadays, the whole contest is just so blatantly political ... a year or so back, England actually managed to get zero points for their entry ..I think for the first time ever. As far as I recall, it was really a statement about their involvement in the latest Iraq war (though the song was probably a shocker too.
They rightfully got zero points for an awful performance (they were singing terribly out of tune :o), not because of the involvement in the latest Iraq war.

I totally agree. The song was rubbish and their singing was dire. If there were political reasons for hating the song, they didn't need them.
