You probably mean the 1969 hit song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" by the band "Steam"
I'll repeat the set to guess:
Dialogue
Another Rainy Day In New York City
Harry Truman
Hint: the artist or band is American and definitely NOT obscure 8)
I know this. I can hear the song Harry Truman but my mind is going blank.
I'll take a guess: The Grateful Dead

Good guess! :) Unfortunately, it's not them... :-\\
All these songs were minor or better hits. Of this list, Dialogue (Pt. 1 and 2) is probably best known. Several MUCH bigger hits, though.

BTW I like the late 1972 Chicago song, Dialogue ;D Fairly political, but not unusual for then. Hard to recognize by the title. Terry Kath (T.K.) and Peter Cetera (P.C.) trade off singing (this is part 1):

If I know the answer here, it's a miracle, but I wouldn't google unless asked to, otherwise I don't on this thread. some people know the answers, and if not, they're given hints. I do google on board games when I need to be sure of a songs decade or the exact title, but don't call members cheaters just because you Trimac20 suspect it. thats not gonna get an applaud

Just to clarify, if I use Google to look up an answer, I admit that I looked it up - and I usually won't give the answer then.
What fun is it to look the song up and give the answer? That just spoils someone else's chance to get it...

I don't know the answer to most of these but I look to see if I do and if it's been sitting idle for too long, I think it's open to whoever wants to answer. Maybe that's not how it's played, but if there's a code or rules, I am not aware. :)
