Here's a hint: classic rock group from Champaign Illinois who would find breakthrough success at the start of the 80's - the songs listed are some early recordings of theirs :)

Nope, it's not them either; they're actually from Rockford.
Here's another clue: this band is named after a fire truck that was around early in the 20th century. Hope this helps! :)

More help (somebody's gotta get this one): they go by their first names. Best classified as classic rock. Their biggest hit "Never Ending Song Of Love" is a quirky tune featuring clapping, whistling and cow bells. "Only You Know And I Know" is a Clapton-esque rocker.
