"Just Another Day" can refer to three different songs. One of them was recorded by the group Oingo Boingo in the 1980's, one was a hit for Jon Secada in the 1990's, and the third was a minor hit in 1996-97 for John Mellencamp.

Elementary school consists of kindergarten through grade 5, and in some areas, also includes grade 6. When I was in 6th grade, in the 1991-92 fiscal year, it was still part of elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District; but the following year, it became part of junior high, and the new arrangement of grades 6 through 8 became known as "middle school"!

Nine seasons is correct if you count the hour-long Lucy-Desi Comedy Hours (which are often referred to as "We Love Lucy"), but as for the 179 half-hour episodes (which begin with the classic intro with the "I Love Lucy" heart logo), that was only six seasons, 1951-57. Can you believe next year it'll be 60 years since "I Love Lucy" went on the air?! :o

Garbage was the name of an alternative rock band that got started in the mid-1990s, with lead vocalist Shirley Manson. They released two albums in the 90's, both of which were successful, and a couple of studio albums in the 2000's, which were flops compared to the other two. In the past five years, they have been working to attempt a comeback. It is possible that they might release a fifth studio album later this year.

In October 1986, the New York Mets won their most recent World Series. One of the most notable gaffes from it was in game 6, when a ground ball rolled right under Bill Buckner's glove, essentially costing the Boston Red Sox the Series. The Redsox would finally get their championship 18 years later, sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals.

That's right, it was in 2006, just two years after the Boston Redsox swept them. As a result, Tony LaRussa won and lost a World Series in both the AL and NL (AL: lost the Series as manager of the Oakland A's in 1988 and 1990, won it with the team in 1989; NL: lost the Series as manager of the Cardinals in 2004, won it with the team in 2006). The Cardinals returned to the postseason in 2009, only to get swept in the first round (the Division Series) by the L.A. Dodgers.

Brooklyn Avenue in Los Angeles was renamed Cesar E. Chavez Avenue in 1993, after the person of that name (a famous Mexican-American farmworker) passed on. Several other streets in the state of California have also been named in his honor...including one close to where I live!
