Melody (aka S.W.A.L.K. or Sealed With A Loving Kiss) is a 1971 British film about "puppy love." Although initially a box office disappointment in both the United States and Britain it has over the years become a cult classic. The film turned out to be an enormous hit in Japan, and in some Latin American countries such as Argentina and Chile.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 01/03/10 at 12:05 am

The early 70s were the majority of Richard Nixon's term as President of the U.S.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: Frank on 01/03/10 at 12:11 am

Nixon's term as President of the U.S lasted from 1968 to 1974 and he almost won in 1960.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 01/03/10 at 12:14 am

In 1960, Nixon narrowly lost to John F. Kennedy, but re-established himself 8 years later and won a full term in the 1968 election; his term actually began on January 20, 1969, a.k.a. Inauguration Day, since that's when he was sworn into office. And yes, his presidency ended in 1974, because he resigned; he was the only US President ever to do that.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: Frank on 01/03/10 at 12:16 am

That month he resigned was in August 1974 and Gerald Ford took over as president.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 01/03/10 at 12:19 am

Gerald Ford took over as president, becoming the only person ever to reach the office without ever being elected President or even Vice-President; that's because he'd been nominated in 1973 to replace Spiro Agnew as VP, and when Nixon resigned from the presidency, Ford had to step up. In 1976 he failed to get elected to a full term, losing to Jimmy Carter in the election.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: Frank on 01/03/10 at 12:24 am

Jimmy Carter in the election of 1976 won, and was the democrat president since Johnson in the 60s.

Subject: Re: Fantastic word game

Written By: nally on 01/03/10 at 12:29 am

In the 60s, the U.S. had a total of four Presidents: Eisenhower (who was finishing up his term, ending in 1961), Kennedy (1961-63), Lyndon Johnson (1963-69), and Nixon (beginning in 1969).

"Primary school" must be the term used in Canada; here in the US it is typically known as elementary school; either way, it refers to the first several years of a child's formal education, usually until the age of 11 or 12.

The #1 position in a F1 race is usually called the pole position, and the car has a great chance to win.
