We've got one semi-official thread for Funny Pictures, and the Wrongest Thread Ever has become it.  The good news is that once you post in the there, it'll show up on your Show New Replies To Your Posts list.  We've got one entire semi-official board for the one-liner stuff that's almost indistinguishable from spam, and it's the Penguin Board Games board, which renders the Show unread posts since last visit list effectively useless.  But some folks are into that, and believe it or not, those posts aren't machine-generated, so we cut those people their slack.

I actually think we made a pretty decent compromise: people who are into the cascade threads can do it for 6 months anywhere on the board, then the go to the walruses-board where they either keep on a life of its own or dies.  Or they can start the cascade/chain on the penguin-games board, and those of us not into the scene don't have to read those threads.  Giving up "unread posts since last visit" isn't that big a sacrifice, even for those of us who visit only 2-3 times a week.  Even if it's been a few weeks, it's usually not that hard for me to figure out where I left off, and "unread replies" in threads to which I've posted is always available as a fallback.

I was told immediately about the wrongest thread ever.  I then posted my pic there as I was asked to.  Then others began posting signs here.  I offered to remove this topic once I knew how to easily get to the new posting.  I was under the impression that the old thread with the new post would show up somewhere that was easily accessible. I knew you were in the USAF here in SA but I didn't know that you worked at WHMC.  When I left the USAF I went to work for BAMC but like you I was not medical.  I have spent my entire working life in the IT field.  Were you ever stationed at Offutt?  Somewhere way back when, I got a clue that you may have been there as well.  I worked on Security Hill when it was still Kelly AFB.  Since Kelly closed it is now part of Lackland.  I lost my daughter back in 1995, so the grieving is over and the acceptance has been accomplished but it still hurts.  But what can I say, we all have to move on.  The pain lessens over the years but you never really completely get over it.  Thanks for your offer to PM with me.  If I ever need to talk, I'll PM you.  BTW my email address is on my profile out here.  You can use that if you ever want to chat a bit.

If I didn't know better I'd swear that was japanese written in Romanji.  It's the "Ka" on the end.  In the Japanese language "Ka" on the end of a sentence is the same as our "?" question mark.  Does this post say the sign is stupid because we can't read it?  Someone said my Grandfather sounded stupid because of his heavy Magyar accent.  I asked that person how many languages did he speak.  I just got this dumb look like a deer in the headlights type.  I then told him that my Grandfather spoke at least four different languages.  So I can't read the sign - ignorance can be fixed - you can't fix stupid.   ;)

The english phrasing makes as much sense to me in these two as the Kanji written above them.  I can understand why the signs come out the way they do.  It all has to do with the language syntax.  Sometimes they get a translation dictionary and write English word for word of what message they want to convey.  I know enough Japanese to understand that.  I can usually follow the Japanese sign errors and understand why they came out the way they did.

I think the sign or the road is upside down.   :D  Actually the sign is backward.  The white line is for bikes.  I figured that out because cars are too wide to fit inside that white line to the edge of the bridge.   ::)  Unless the bikes ride on the inside of the yellow line.  In that case the sign is correct.  Just a bad place to put the sign.  Who knows?   ???  Oh wait -  I see bikes inside the yellow line.  Disregard eerything except that the sign is in a dumb place.  :P

I visited a place in Japan called Monkey Mountain.  The small but powerful primates roamed wild and a troop of them had their territory right where the tourists parked.  We were warned to let the monkies take anything that we may be carrying.  If it is food or drink they take it.  If it's a camera or something non edible they will look at it and leave it.  Although they are a lot smaller than a human they are way stronger then us. 

My son was between 2 and 3 years old.  One monkey took his cookie.  I was distracted and when I finally looked back at my son, he had one arm stretched out with a piece of bread and the other arm stretched 180 degrees.  >:(  He was about to cole-konk that monkey.  I chased it off just in time.  That monkey would have done a job on my son.

I offered that same monkey a beer can that had about a swallow left in it.  He didn't want it.  I went behind the camper and poured the beer into a Pepsi can and offered it to him.  He grabs it up and starts to chug.  Then he screamed  :o and threw the can straight into the air and ran screaming off into the brush.  I'll teach him to steal a kid's cookie.      :P  :D  ;D

We drive across country many, many times and we take route 40 from Oklahoma City and that goes through the Panhandle through Amarillo (or Armadillo as I call it  :D ;D ;D ). After you get past Amarillo, there is NOTHING!!!! No mountains, no trees. NOTHING!!!!
