That's damn catchy tune Q.... :)
Naturally, I don't have an MP3 player or ipod (and I never will)...but if I did..I would have 'To Sir With Love' by Lulu on it. It's not exactly a song a guy can sing out loud! :-\\ ;)

If someone played "Sometimes When We Touch" by Dan Hill off my iPod, I would have to run and hide. I love this song, but I (mostly) like to keep that to myself!
Same with "What a Girl Wants" by Christina Aguilera.

My most embarrassing ones are:
"Now That We're Men" and other songs sung by Spongebob and Patrick from the Spongebob The Movie soundtrack
The entire soundtracks to Pirates of the Caribbean 1,2 and 3 plus a 3 minute track of Jack-isms (Johnny Depp sound bytes)
The original Disney version of "A Pirate's Life for Me"
about 4 songs off the Hannah Montana tv soundtrack
I'm beginning to wonder....do I have anything not embarrassing on it? Well, I guess about 40 songs out of 3000 ain't so bad! :D

Haha perfect topic. I just downloaded that new Miley Cyrus soundtrack (for evaluation only ha) so yeah that's probably the most embarrassing. I could say like Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Pussycat Dolls and all that but it's normal listening for me. I love pop music, for me it's basically a stress reliever and I generally think the pop fan shouldn't be embarrassed of their music though there is some stuff that even for us pop fans is a bit embarrassing.

Don't have a MP3 player, iPod or anything like that. One time one of my best friends & I were standing in line at the grocery story and were fooling around and had everyone around us cracking up.
Me: I have Barry Manilow.
Her: Well, I have the Bay City Rollers.
Me: I can top that, I have the Partridge Family
Her: I have Shawn Cassidy. Try topping that!
Me: Well, I have David Soul.
Her: I have Leif Garret.
It went on like that as we sounded like we were SOOOO proud to have these albums in our collection and everyone around us was just cracking up.

It doesn't bother me so much if people think I have weird music or not, I listen to what I want, when I want and no one is gonna change that. Heck - I even have the Twilight Score on my iPod. Yep, the same tune over and over again with a few subtleties added. Meh! My world! 8)

My music tastes go all over the place, so it would depend on who I was with. I'm generally a pop listener (I love anything catchy, especially the really clean cut midtempo songs), but most people would probably go WTF if they knew every corner of what I like.
Who the heck else has Katy Perry, Weird Al, Metallica, "Take On Me", Phil Collins, Amy Grant, Peter Paul & Mary and Red Hot Chili Peppers all in one place? ;D Not many I'd imagine.

Oh cool, I'm the same way with liking music all over. Yeah, I don't get death metal either (some regular metal like Metallica I like on occasion). This one guy at my high school was a Ramstein fan too, I was thinking, okay dude whatever. ;D
I like '80s as much as much as Generation X, and not just the common songs that alot of people have heard...but soundtrack songs or album tracks too. I bet alot of people have wondered where I got ahold of alot of it, lol. Of course alot of it I didn't know about back then (when I was a kid I basically only knew the m ore popular hits, or what was on the radio), so in a way it's even cooler to find a "new" song from 1985 or 1991.

;D ;D ;D ;D
Here's what it is:
Tracks
1. Saturday Night
2. Shang-A-Lang
3. Remember (Sha la la La)
4. Bye Bye Baby
5. I Only Want to Be With You
6. All of Me Loves All of You
7. Give a Little Love
8. Summerlove Sensation
9. Rebel Rebel
10. Money Honey
11. Keep on Dancing
12. Love Me Like I Love You
13. Once Upon a Star
14. Be My Baby
15. You Made Me Believe in Magic
16. The Way I Feel Tonight
17. Another Rainy Day in New York City
18. It's a Game
19. There Goes My Baby
20. Rock 'N Roll Love Letter
21. Bay City Rollers Megamix
I had forgotten about some of these songs, and I don't love all of them, but some are just classic, like 1,4,5,9,13,14,15, and 19. 21 is silly, of course, but it's so corny you gotta love it! I'd bet if you hears some of them you'd be like "Oh yeah, I liked that song-that was THEM?" ;)

I love that song too. I think Dan Hill is an excellent singer but I do agree 'Sometimes when we touch' is a private thing, lol.
I also have a lot of people's 'recommendations' here including 'Good Vibrations' by Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch and 'Turtle Power' by Partners in Kryme, reminds me of good times.
My mp3 player has a whole who's who of embarrassing stuff on it including:
'It's raining men' - Weathergirls
'So macho' - Sinitta
'Battle of Kookamonga' - Homer and Jethro
'Born too late' - Poni Tails
'Especially for you' - Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan
'Feels like I'm in love' - Kelly Marie
'Forever your girl' - Paula Abdul
'Gimme dat ding' - Pipkins
'He's got the whole world in his hands' - Pat Boone
'How will I know' - Whitney Houston
'I eat cannibals' - Toto Coelo
'I like Chopin' - Gazebo
The worst offender is the old UK hit 'It's 'orrible being in love when you're eight and half' by Claire and Friends. The idea of listening to children talk about love makes me squirm but the song is so catchy.

Ha ha, you are the second person I know that has 'Ruff Mix' by Wonderdog. An old friend had that on LP and I thought he was the only one who could possibly have that song.

That is brilliant, Jason. Gazebo were not popular in the UK and I only found out about them by accident. I'm guessing you have the equally brilliant 'Lunatic' as well?

It's strangely a catchy song. When Simon Cowell tells people they can't sing, they could remark back: "I may not be able to sing, but you dressed up in a dog costume and danced around to a barking beagle. You're no better!" LOL

They weren't popular in North America either. I do have 'Lunatic'. The CD I got is called 'Gazebo - The Collection'. Picked it up at HMV for like $3.99

Simon Cowell did that? Well I never... ;D
I shouldn't be surprised.

Did a wikipedia on Paul Mazzolini (the man behind Gazebo) and here is the chart success he had:
Masterpiece" (1982; #2 Italy, #35 Germany, #5 Switzerland)
I Like Chopin (1983; #1 Italy, #1 Germany, #1 Switzerland, #7 Netherlands, #1 Austria)
Lunatic (1983; #3 Italy, #4 Germany, #6 Switzerland, #13 Austria)
Telephone Mama (1984; #10 Italy)

I still have an old CD player... but the most embarassing songs in my MP3 collection would be the Power Rangers theme song, You Are A Pirate, and any of the insanely happy techno songs from DDR.

I love "Forever Your Girl". :) Reminds me of 5th grade.

He only produced it and created the Wonderdog alter ego. He dressed up in the Wonderdog costume for TOTP and other chart show appearances, but despite what many YouTube videos say, that is not him singing on the song lol

I didn't know he was anything to do with it. Somewhere in the back of my mind is the notion that one of the BBC Radio 1 DJ's had something to do with the song.

There was a bit of that dressing up in costumes lark back in the late 70s/early 80s - The Wombles, The Tweets, The Snowmen...

So we've got plenty of schmaltz from the 70s (the decade that taste forgot!), and in that category, I include several tracks already listed here, as well as Sarah Brightman (as "Hot Gossip")'s (I Lost My Heart To A) Starship Trooper
But how 'bout something a little more recent? There's plenty of wackiness from the 80s, 90s, and 00s to go around.
Runner-up: 80s.
For what it's worth, I didn't put Karen Finley's Tales of Taboo (Radio Mix) onto the MP3 player, for just such an emergency. If you've listened to ten seconds of the Dayglo Abortions, you know you're getting into thrash punk, and you deserve whatever you get for what happens next. Not so with the cute whimsical synthpop intro of Finley's track. But it's a runner-up, because it's not on the MP3 player, so it doesn't really count. But that discussion leads me into...
....Second Place: 90s.
Just about anything by the Dayglo Abortions, who are on the player. I can see myself tooling down the highway talking serious business with a co-worker/passenger, and suddenly Hide the Hamster comes on in the background. (Or worse, Ben Gets Off or Punker B*leep*tches, which have choruses that can cut through even the carpool lane during rush-hour traffic.)
A Winnar Is You: 00s.
Oh, crap, I just realized I also have some Hanzel und Gretyl on this thing. I might be able to get away with SS Deathstar Supergalactic (hey, it could mean "Space Ship", right?), but there'd be no way to get away with Third Reich from the Sun without having Internet connectivity. Look, they were making fun of the damn Nazis, the whole point of the joke was to see if they could make a sci-fi-industrial-death-metal-rock-opera so cheezy that the German government would ban it! They trolled an entire nation-state for the lulz! (Crap, they were on tour last year? And I missed it?! All of us on this thread missed it? Damn, we all failed hard there...)
Anyways, yeah. The more I think about it, the less I want to try to explain the joke to any poor co-worker subject to it, and yet, HuG remains on the MP3 player. If we're in the carpool lane and it happens, SS Deathstar Supergalactik gets played. If we're stuck in traffic and it comes up, it's Third Reich from the Sun. Praise Dobbs that there's enough space on the damn thing that, statistically speaking, I don't have to worry for a while, and that most of my cow orkers have internet connectivity on their phones by now.
The Dayglos and the HuG stay on the player. What the hell, Karen, welcome to the party, there's 40 seconds before the first obscenity, plenty of time to discreetly hit "next track" and scan the rear-view to see if anyone else is giggling.

Yeah. I downloaded it as a joke, my mom had asked me to burn a CD for her so I slipped that in among her Springsteen, Jackson Browne, etc. It turned out she wanted the CD to listen to at work so her co-workers first heard it at the same time she did. She said it was hilarious :)

I have "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer" by Kenny Rogers & Kim Carnes too.
I actually like that song because it's one of those that hasn't been played on the radio over the years, so when I hear it, it totally takes me back.
