I think a mackerel is good. Mainly because it is kind of a funny word.

A fish is better than a lead pipe because a lead pipe comes across more as a felonious act, and the lesson would likely be lost. A fish is better because everyone would laugh and the recipient would likely say, "Oh my gosh, how dumb I've been!"

I often buy less than $5 with credit card. Here's why: 1. My husband doesn't give me any money and 2. I usually don't know how much something costs anyway.  :-[

I don't think everyone understands that stores pay a fee to the credit card companies.  I didn't know that for a long time until I first worked in a store myself.

Gas stations in our area sometimes run a promotion where they sell gas at a discounted price.

Because they are sheep, falling for a gimmick. How much gas is being used waiting in line, it is summer
and their pampered little a$$es can't get hot so the air conditioning must be on. Plus, wasted gas
traveling to a gas station they don't normally go. It doesn't take a mathematician to realize
they are wasting more than they are saving. This is what gas companies want, little sheep to flock
to their gimmick. Lets not forget wear and tear on the vehicle. Sorry, the one time, five dollar saved
is not worth it.

Wreckless Drivers

People who wait several cars deep in the drive-through lane at the dry cleaners. It's 100+ degrees and they sit there idling, wasting gas, emitting emissions because they do not have legs, or maybe they cannot walk 20 feet from parking space to door. Same with fast food restaurants. 10 cars in line at the drive through and the counter area is like a ghost town.

I think them little spikes are like sting ray stingers and have a mild venom in them. we used to catch stringers of catfish out of the San Joaquin River here in Nor-Cal, and those suckers hurt if they get you. Nice choice  ;D

Well I ended up doing that afterward(after telling them at one point that they would have to do better than that), these little kids also called me the racial N-word and were threatening to send their dad over to kick my ass(I just shook my head and rolled my eyes at that point).

It further fuels my belief that people in my neighborhood are spreading rumors about me, thus the little buggers saying crap like that. Funny thing is, I never seen the kids in my area call me anything like that until a few weeks after my place got robbed in July. I apparently live in a negative redneck neighborhood(as opposed to a positive redneck neighborhood).

Oh, I know why. Rumors. But, still felt the need to ask(for some reason I have the instinct to try to reason with people and use logic, but I keep forgetting that I live in Indianapolis).

The fact this started happening after my place got robbed is very suspicious(I have lots of anime posters on the walls, a few are the cute type from shows geared toward kids), why else would anyone think that crap?

Today I deserve to be hit in the face with a fish.  I actually started a small fire in my kitchen with Spaghetti!  ;D

(I picked up the box the wrong way and the spaghetti spilled out.  I went to pick up what fell on the floor not noticing that some slid onto the stove, under the pot where the water was boiling.  The ends of the spaghetti touched the burner and caught on fire.  I said, "Argh!  I should be hit with a fish!" and cracked up laughing.  My kids were like  ???  )  ;D

I'm sure you are good, you sound very passionate about your craft, yet you do seem to have a performers attitude that I've seen before & hopefully without stereotyping, they don't have much nice to say about other performers &  don't seem to think much of them. & it's great your wife gives you encouragement and support, but one thing I've always felt and it's a biblical passage, and it makes a lot of sense is "to let your praise come from other peoples lips"  I have to bring that up every once in awhile on my softball team once in awhile when a couple players toot their horn a little too much for my liking. hopefully your ship/stage will come in.  8)

I will add hawkTheSlayer that I've read that a good amount of praise for you does come from others, so you aren't just tooting your horn, but reiterating what others have said, so hopefully you see I'm not blind and do recognize that many enjoy your performances. Do you or have you sung in church before? My wife sings and absolutely loves it with a passion, and is pretty good at it. There are some on stage that seem to be up there for themselves and need to be hit with a fish while others seem more sincere.

I got into plays and Performance Choirs, and that helped a bit, but it wasn't where I truly wanted to be.

When you have something you love, and it gets ripped away from you, you feel something's missing.
You yearn for it- you crave it.
In my case, I want it back because God has given me a gift, and I want to share it with the world, on a grand scale. Money & fame are nice, but that's not what it's all about.
It's about the gift, and who it's shared with.

Yes, I do see what you mean.  You obviously have a passion for this and you enjoy doing it.  That's great.  I think everyone should have that one thing that they are truly passionate about and that they throw themselves into.  For you it's singing, for me it's writing.

Yes, I do see what you mean.  You obviously have a passion for this and you enjoy doing it.  That's great.  I think everyone should have that one thing that they are truly passionate about and that they throw themselves into.  For you it's singing, for me it's writing.

I am not the only one who has this 'opinion' of her.
I'm sure she has friends, and I know her parents love her, as I hope any parents would love their children.
That being said...I do not judge the book by its cover.

Amber has rubbed just about everyone who has ever competed against her raw- I know of at least 50.

I don't judge her based on anything other than what I have seen, and what I know to be truth.
In competition, there's a difference between being competitive, and winning at any cost.
She has been known to pull dirty tactics- such as hob-nobbing with judges prior to performance, throwing a royal fit if someone is singing the same song she chooses, breaking rules just to make her performance seem better, etc.

Perfect example- she also qualified for the show I was on, and got further than I did. I applaud her for that.
She was on the week before I was.
Now, we had to sign contracts, and agree to certain conditions.
The Exec. Producer made it clear that certain contestants had been giving the staff grief, and we were to be co-operative. His exact quote was, "If you have a 'diva' attitude, either get rid of it, or leave now. I can't name who I am aiming this towards, but she was on last week's show (there were only 2 women that week), and she seemed to think that her experience made her the winner already."

The other gal on that week admitted in her interview that she had never really done this before.
Pretty positive proof, in my books.

There are many of us who have tried to get to know her, and she has reacted the same with everyone:
"Give me what I want, and kiss my ass royally, or you're not worth my time".

I don't know how everyone else did theirs but my DJ equipment is connected to the line-in jack in my PC.  My mic's connected to my mixing board.  I have a program called Alive that records to mp3 format.  And I also have a program called Adobe Audition (which is like CoolEdit Pro; so I've heard) where I can tweak sounds and multi-track stuff.  I use that program all the time to make DJ-friendly remixes for my show.

I'm guessing the basics that you would need would be a mic and a program that can record your voice.

The thing is, we don't go by how much you're selling the item. We just have a flat rate for everything (at least merchandise items). If you're selling a $100 bike, the ad for 3 lines is $35.95.
