Oh yeah, I'm not denying some women find men with facial hair attractive. Awhile ago I saw his mustache pic too, and didn't recognize it as the same guy, LOL! (Although I think that same look was cool on John Oates in the 80s!)

I know this was a few pages back, and I'm sorry for interrupting any ongoing conversation, but the nerd in me had to answer this:

Acceleration is simply the rate of the change of velocity.  An object with a constant speed has no acceleration, 'cause the velocity does not change.  If an object has a postive acceleration, something like 5 m/s2, then the velocity of the object will increase--5 m/s in each second the object accelerates at that rate, until the velocity of the object reaches that object's terminal velocity.  However, if an object has a negative acceleration, like -5 m/s2, then it is not actually accelerating, but decelerating, and the velocity of the object will decrease by 5 m/s each second the object decelerates at that rate, until the velocity of the object reaches 0 m/s.

Now that's a very simple explaination, but it should answer your question.

Okay, sorry 'bout the speed/velocity thing.  I use them interchangibly, 'cause...well, who doesn't?  But yes, it would be the acceleration would be the rate of change of speed, not the rate of change of velocity.

And as for the second part,...well, I had never realized that.  Mind you, I got my information from an eighth grade science class in Pennsylvania.  (Gotta love the American Public School System.  ::) )
