Looking for any and all Nickelodeon shows, doesn't matter whether they were taped or bought. Very interested in:

Basically whatever else you've got, even if I didn't list it.  ;D
Also, if anybody's got Fraggle Rock or old Rugrats episodes!!!!

Hey I know where you can download these old shows. Download WWW.LIMEWIRE.COM down load lime wire. When you have it installed    go to search video and type in a old NICKELODEON show like Rocko's Modern Life and you can download episodes of these shows.

I just got through watching some shows that I had taped back in 1993. Wow, I miss them too! I had Rugrats, Clarissa Explains it All, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Ren and Stimpy..  I have never seen any DVD's of old Nick shows.  I was over at my friend's house the other day.. she has the digital cable, and as we were looking through the shows, I saw Legends of the Hidden Temple! I was like OMG I used to watch that show!! It was great. I'm not sure if it was one of the old ones or if they are still making the show.

Nick isn't the same anymore. the 90's ROCKED!

its true cartoons just arent as twisted any more...its all political correctness gone mad you know?however wierd those cartoons were, like rockos modern life and the tick, they all had the right message...i think the infuence cartoons have now is leading the next gen to grow up to be dicks.thats why we all have the right idea, but younger kids are full of cocky aggression.hope swearing doesnt offend anyone.

Written By: CzStyle on 04/13/05 at 8:56 pm

you guys are either too young or too old to remember some of the KEY shows from back in the day, as well as mistaken about what networks some shows aired on.....
so here it is, my list of essential and OLDschool Nickelodeon programs...

1. You can't do that on television!
(Started everything, Alannis Morisette was on it, if someone said "I don't know" they dumped the slime on them)
2. Double Dare
3. Finders Keepers
(another classic marc summers operation where the red team and the blue team would tear apart a mock house looking for some object)
4. Lassie, Dennis the Menace, and Looney Toons
5. Eureka's Castle
6. David the Gnome
7. Pinwheel
Remember "Nick" printed in the big orange elephant, and Jr. in the little blue one next to it?
8. Maya the Bee
9. Kid's Court
10. That show with the koala bear that comes alive and the eucalyptus tree in the backyard...
11. Mr. Wizard
12. Count Duckula
13. Heathcliff and that other cat riff-raff
14. The city of gold, or boy of the sun or something...
15. Inspector Gadget
16. Hey Dude
17. Adv. of Pete & Pete
18. Salute your Shorts
19.Clarissa Explains it All
20. Welcome Freshman
21. Fifteen (soap opera type show)
22. Are you afraid of the dark?
23. Ren & Stimpy
(contender for the best cartoon of all time)
24. Doug
25. Rugrats
26. GUTS
27. What would you do?
28. Make the Grade
29. Wild and Crazy Kids...
30. Roundhouse (never watched it)
31. Spongebob (new but deserves recognition)

After collaborating with a friend and spending entirely too much time chasing after vague and distorted images from my early childhood, I can't think of any other shows from way back that were of any signifigance.
Hopefully most of them are preserved on some hard drive somewhere.
If anyone can add to this list anything from before You can't do that on television... you are a true and amazing child of cable television and deserve recognition.

My sister and I have been trying to figure out the name of this show.  We don't really think it was on Nick, but it might have been...
This is what we can remember:
It was a family whose uncle always came to visist.  He was a big black man and the star of the show.  In one of the episodes he is dressed as an elf and singing "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" in their living room.  During the theme song the family is getting ready for breakfast.  A piece of toast flies up out of the toaster, someone catches it in mid-air and they also do a veiw from above the table as they eat breakfast and zoom in on a glass of orange juice.
This is all we remember, although I think this uncle had a close friend that was always with him... he was skinny and black.
I was searching the web for this show and couldn't find anything.  We're hoping that someone on here will know because we watched all of these other shows you wrote about.  We loved, loved, loved Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, and My Brother and Me.
Thanks!

#21 the show was called Seventeen

you guys are either too young or too old to remember some of the KEY shows from back in the day, as well as mistaken about what networks some shows aired on.....
so here it is, my list of essential and OLDschool Nickelodeon programs...

1. You can't do that on television!
(Started everything, Alannis Morisette was on it, if someone said "I don't know" they dumped the slime on them)
2. Double Dare
3. Finders Keepers
(another classic marc summers operation where the red team and the blue team would tear apart a mock house looking for some object)
4. Lassie, Dennis the Menace, and Looney Toons
5. Eureka's Castle
6. David the Gnome
7. Pinwheel
Remember "Nick" printed in the big orange elephant, and Jr. in the little blue one next to it?
8. Maya the Bee
9. Kid's Court
10. That show with the koala bear that comes alive and the eucalyptus tree in the backyard...
11. Mr. Wizard
12. Count Duckula
13. Heathcliff and that other cat riff-raff
14. The city of gold, or boy of the sun or something...
15. Inspector Gadget
16. Hey Dude
17. Adv. of Pete & Pete
18. Salute your Shorts
19.Clarissa Explains it All
20. Welcome Freshman
21. Fifteen (soap opera type show)
22. Are you afraid of the dark?
23. Ren & Stimpy
(contender for the best cartoon of all time)
24. Doug
25. Rugrats
26. GUTS
27. What would you do?
28. Make the Grade
29. Wild and Crazy Kids...
30. Roundhouse (never watched it)
31. Spongebob (new but deserves recognition)

After collaborating with a friend and spending entirely too much time chasing after vague and distorted images from my early childhood, I can't think of any other shows from way back that were of any signifigance.
Hopefully most of them are preserved on some hard drive somewhere.
If anyone can add to this list anything from before You can't do that on television... you are a true and amazing child of cable television and deserve recognition.

The Parent Hood. Not Nick, I think.

Wow, I miss all these shows so much I could cry. And thanks to the rest of you for helping me remember shows that I didn't know I used to love.

All right, #10 on the list is "Noozles."

The game show with the young black guy host (Phi lMoore) with the video games was called "Nick Arcade." I used to just LOVE the prizes they'd give out on that show (and the others on Nick)...anyone remember the "CDTV" thing? They only had it on 2 or 3 shows in their entire history, but that thing was INSANE. It was like some ultra-computer/music/whatever system. I would've castrated myself for one of those back in the day.

Great to see other people with television nostalgia...and I'm 20, but I still remember "You Can't Do That On Television," so it's not THAT old. I think it was still on through like 1990 or 1991.

Anyone remember Danger Mouse? I don't know if that was on Nickelodeon or not, but it was pretty cool.

Good job remembering Heathcliff--I'm always telling people about that cartoon, and people are like "don't you mean Garfield?" Um, no morons...lol.....Heathcliff Heathcliff, no one should, terrorize the neighborhood!

And Yogi used to be on Nick...there were three different versions of Yogi. The classicone in Jellystone park (I think that's what it was called?), and then there's the one where he's on the ship with Huckelberry Hound and the rest of the great characters (I think I actually liked that one best when I was younger), and finally the weird space one with some human space commander yelling at Yogi "Mr. Ranger" style.

Some others shows I haven't seen mentioned here:

"What Would You Do?"
Launce Box (part of the Cable In the Classroom network later on...but I saw it before there even was such a thing as "Cable In the Classroom."

Ah, the memories of waking up at 6 AM because I had a dental appointment and watching Mr. Wizzard...and occasionally not being able to sleep for whatever reason and going downstairs to watch the replay of Nick-At-Nite episodes of "Get Smart," "Dragnet," and "The Lucy Show" followed by Launchbox (space program show--loved the few episodes I saw of it) /Mr. Wizzard or whatever. Oh, and a few years ago Don Herbert aka Mr. Wizzard came out with "Teacher to Teacher"...which was pretty damn cool! No joke...it was about teaching strategies and dealt with middle school and high school aged students. Really nice to watch. Those "educational" shows just have a certain feel to them when you are in distress because you're sick/can't sleep/think someone is breaking into the house or whatever...and it's summer and you're a kid and whatever else.

Anyone remember the "Bosco" things on Loony Toons (I think that's what it was called)? That was REALLY old school, and I absolutely HATED them...boring as hell. It was like stick figures--just straight black ink-- just doing regular things...5 minutes of them hammering things up and down and maybe hitting their foot or something.

Gotta say, my favorite shows from that time period--Doug and Rocko's Modern Life, along with the CLASSIC Rugrats episode--now I know most people like to say that Rugrats fell off when "Dill" was born, but the truth of the matter is it fell of even before that. I found a GREAT cutoff point--the show truly did just go from awesome to absolutely unwatchable overnight. When David Doyle (voice of Lou/grandpa) died...I don't know what it is (maybe Doyle had some impact in the writing aspect? Like maybe the clever humor was actually his writing???), but every episode when he was alive was quality and had the adult wit and creative humor. Once he died, that all just disappeared and it became DISGUSTING MUSH that made me want to puke.

Even in that "Lady Luck" episode, which was one of the last episodes Doyle did recordings for...that was the same high quality that made the show great from prior years.

Anyway, just reminsicing.

Salute Your Shorts was cool but different at the same time. Danny Kooksy was one of the greatest actors of all-time. It's sad hardly anybody really knows about him. His performances on that show were truly Oscar-worthy. I didn't even realize it when I was a kid and watching it at the time, but just thinking back these past couple of years on that show--it's unbelievable how potent his performances were. He was able to make Bobby Budnick one of the most compelling, human, and realistic characters of all-time. That epsidoe where he and Michael skipped out on some trip the other campers were going to by making themselves sick, just so they could sit and eat icecream--and then Budnick's open-hearted look at who he is and about all the sheesh he had to deal with in his life--that was as good a scene as any actor has ever done anywhere.

Never wanted to watch Hey Dude when I was younger, but when I started I was hooked.

Pete and Pete was just STRANGE...but fascinating in a lot of ways.

I wanted to like Clarissa but to me it was just mostly boring. Still watched it a lot, though.

Anyone remember that Red Team that scored 1,000 points (I think that's what the insane number was) and then won the obstacle course on Family Double Dare? And at the end they got to squirt red ketchup at each other in celebration? That had to be the greatest accomplishment on a game show this side of Ken Jennings.

Forgot to ask--does anyone remember the short cartoon "Batfink?" It was just one of those classic Nick "filler" cartoons. Batfink was the superhero and he had some assistant, and they'd for 3/4 of the couple of minutes it lasted set him up in an impossible situation where he was sure to wind up dead...only for him to make a MIRACULOUS escape in a few seconds of huge, Wile E. Coyote/Road Runner action-reaction sequences.

Ah, Stick Stickley...he needs to be mentioned. Coolest stick ever..lol.

I was searching the web for this show and couldn't find anything.  We're hoping that someone on here will know because we watched all of these other shows you wrote about.  We loved, loved, loved Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, and My Brother and Me.

The Adventures of Pete and Pete, and Clarissa Explains it All have both come out on DVD as part of Nickelodeon's "rewind collection".  I have Pete and Pete and it's a really good DVD.  I hope Nickelodeon puts more of these old shows out soon.

Also, if anyone wants to help try to get these shows back, there's a petition on http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/oldnickshowz

Certain games shows like Legends of the Hidden Temple, GUTS, Double Dare and Nick Arcade also play on the Nickelodeon GAS network so you can get your fix there too.

There is this one show that was on in the 80's, I'm pretty sure it was Nickelodeon, but it could have possibly been a network.  Anyway it's been driving me crazy for years.

All I can remember is part of the theme song, but one of the characters who is the bad guy he was sort of like the body shape of The Grinch, but he was pink and he had this snout for a nose, and he had a couple of kids, and they had this big control room.  I can't remember any of the good guys from this show, unfortunately.  I do remember they were on another planet, and then something about palm trees or something, it was a REALLY long time ago, ahaha.

If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, help!

That was Figure It Out where there were panelists that had to guess what the guest did or what talent they had.  They got certain clues that were either acted out or sometimes brought out on the conveyor belt, and if they said a special word or something they would get slimed.  Danny Tamberelli from Pete and Pete was one of the regular panelists, as well as Lori Beth from All That.

wat is that shows with the 2 black brothers. I think one's name as Darnell. The older brother had a friend that practically lived witht them. The younger brother had a friend that always said "don't hold your breathe" anda white friend that was kinda nerdy. Anyone remember the name of that show???

~my brother & me~

I think you mean the show My Brother and Me; it premiered in 1994 on Nickelodeon. The brothers’ names were Dee Dee and Alfie. :)

I think that was also My Brother and Me, were the brothers African American?  I used to watch that show a lot, although I think it was just because I was bored, haha.  I remember that they often went to a comic book store.

1. You can't do that on television!

you guys are either too young or too old to remember some of the KEY shows from back in the day, as well as mistaken about what networks some shows aired on.....
so here it is, my list of essential and OLDschool Nickelodeon programs...

1. You can't do that on television!
(Started everything, Alannis Morisette was on it, if someone said "I don't know" they dumped the slime on them)
2. Double Dare
3. Finders Keepers
(another classic marc summers operation where the red team and the blue team would tear apart a mock house looking for some object)
4. Lassie, Dennis the Menace, and Looney Toons
5. Eureka's Castle
6. David the Gnome
7. Pinwheel
Remember "Nick" printed in the big orange elephant, and Jr. in the little blue one next to it?
8. Maya the Bee
9. Kid's Court
10. That show with the koala bear that comes alive and the eucalyptus tree in the backyard...
11. Mr. Wizard
12. Count Duckula
13. Heathcliff and that other cat riff-raff
14. The city of gold, or boy of the sun or something...
15. Inspector Gadget
16. Hey Dude
17. Adv. of Pete & Pete
18. Salute your Shorts
19.Clarissa Explains it All
20. Welcome Freshman
21. Fifteen (soap opera type show)
22. Are you afraid of the dark?
23. Ren & Stimpy
(contender for the best cartoon of all time)
24. Doug
25. Rugrats
26. GUTS
27. What would you do?
28. Make the Grade
29. Wild and Crazy Kids...
30. Roundhouse (never watched it)
31. Spongebob (new but deserves recognition)

After collaborating with a friend and spending entirely too much time chasing after vague and distorted images from my early childhood, I can't think of any other shows from way back that were of any signifigance.
Hopefully most of them are preserved on some hard drive somewhere.
If anyone can add to this list anything from before You can't do that on television... you are a true and amazing child of cable television and deserve recognition.

I remember being like 4 or 5 and "playing" this show in my friends back yard.  We would dump buckets of water on each other
and scream at the top of our lungs, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION!!"
10. That show with the koala bear that comes alive and the eucalyptus tree in the backyard...
It's amazing how NO ONE can remember the  name of this show!!  It was one of my favorites, and the mystery of its title has
haunted me for YEARS.  I finally got smart and googled it, and it was called "Noozles."  Not the name I expected AT ALL!

I definitely think "Rocko's Modern Life" should be on there as well as "Ahhh! Real Monsters!" and "Angry Beavers."

I loved that show when I was little!  It was called "Noozles."

what was the name of that show where the two koala bears come alive in the little girls room, and she has the big eucalyptus tree at her bedroom window, where they climb and eat?  It was a cartoon.  Some people say it was Adventures of the Little Koala....but it is not that one!!!  The other one...David the Gnome, was that show the one that had the fox named "Swift" in it?

That one was called "The Big Comfy Couch" but it wasn't a Nick show.

Does anyone remember the one where the little girl with the giant sunglasses was sitting on this Giant red couch?  She would only get off it to do a 30 second speed clean thing.  And etc..
Anyone, I've lost sleep over that one.

I remember watching Maple Town with Patty Rabit, Bobby Bear, and Fanny Fox. It was always back to back with a show called Koala bears. There was another show with koalas in it, i dont rember the name of it but the main girls name was Sandy and she had a stuffed koala named Blinky and it would come to life when she wanted it to and he had a little sister named Pinky who had a magic make up compact (i always wanted one!)

I ONLY remember the opening theme, its a family going on a vacation and they go throught this tunnel in their car and fall through this crack that somehow teleports them back to this dinosaur era, other people have said they know what i'm talking about, but What was the name of it!

I don't remember if the show I am thinking about was on Nickelodeon, but I will ask anyway. It was about three brother aliens(possibly), that lived in a lighthouse with a scientist. They were bald and had high pitched voices. I am dying to remember the name of the show. It came on Saturday mornings, so it might have been on ABC. Can anyone remember the name, or even seeing it on. I might just be crazy because none of my friends can even admit to its existence. It came on after Puff the Magic Dragon and Eureka's Castle.
