i need help with my 80s report

???i would really aprreciate of some ppl helped me with this report i just need a few answeres no this isnt cheating cause were allowed to use the internet heres my questions:Who was the typical American family structure of the 80s.What were the roles of: Dad? Mom? Young People? and the rates of women working, divorce rates, marriages or any other relative information. and last what were the common jobs of the 80s... thank you for your help

My strongest recommendation is to check out Census data from 1990. That will get you some hard numbers from the 80's.

Roles of family members is pretty much the same. I'd guess that in the 80's maybe there were fewer families with both parents working. Perhaps fewer single parent familes as well.

In the end a job is a job is a job, if you can get one. None that I would guess is any more common than in any other decade in the past 100 years. Certainly there are fewer farmers and fewer manufacturing jobs now.

Ideas - create a typical punk rock family for your report: Dad wears combat boots, jeans, spikes, has an orange mo-hawk and goes to work at some banging industrial factory in London. Create a Mom, a Cindy Lauper looking chick dressed in the latest new wave fashion, their kids, etc., "Honey I',m home! Did you get my spiked leather dog collar repaired? Junior's mohawk is a mess, daughter wants to go to the slam dance tonight, etc." ;D

For other real data you might try the big book of Facts on File at any library. It might be a little fun and it may tell you about the percentages of working parents, number of people in the average family which i thought was about 2.7 kids in two parent household, but don't quote me--it's just an opinion to get you started.
The electronics biz really took off in certain parts of the country,and as someone else mentioned, farming and animal raising (cows for "food" versus cows for milk) dropped in numbers.
The 2 car family was well underway because just after the 70s when more women jumped into the workforce in addition to the surge of women who did the same during and after the 60s. But during the 70's war era more women went to work and that population was older in the 80s so they didn't want to give up the freedom of being outside the home and the often needed salary for household expenses. they also needed transportation freedom from the husband's family car,but yes, this was pretty much started in the 70s.
the 80s was a continuation of the end of the 70s. A looking forward for the country,(we elected former actor Ronald Reagan as president in 84 for instance). It was a growth for industries like cars (more variety, greater awareness/consciousness and laws about seatbelts in all new vehicles) and electronics like computer games, computers, mobile phones, cable television movie channels were created about 83 and that changed the way people watched tv. VCRs mproved over the 1970s models, so that changed the way you could watch movies at home also.
Lots of little "mom and pop" sort of companies got their start in the 80s because there was an opening for "new and different" products in the market. for example when did Ben & Jerry's ice cream go nationwide? When did the cosmetics companies begin selling lip gloss to young pre-teen girls?
If it wasn't the late 70's it was probably early 80s.

You should do your own homework instead of expecting others to do it for you.

With the internet, research is fairly easy.

Make the effort.
