MuchMusic Launch
1984. A blue screen with a shot of fireworks superimposed on it. Then, VJs Christopher Ward and J.D. Roberts burst through the shot and the Canadian MTV is born. J.D. Roberts, host of Much's Power Hour (devoted to heavy metal) later went on to squaredom as anchor for CTV's Canada AM and, currently, CBS News (now known as John Roberts.)

I would LOVE to have a tape of the launch of MuchMusic. Was anyone out there recording the very first day it went on the air in 1984? Would also be interested in other tapes of MuchMusic from 1984-1995 or so. VHS videotapes, or DVD's of music videos, shows, VJ segments, etc. would be great. Please email me & describe what you have. Maybe we can trade.
