Does anyone have the MTV Video Awards show on tape when Bon Jovi got their lifetime achievement award? I'd be very interested in obtaining a copy of this....

Hey Jonman! I used to have this awards presentation on VHS until 5 or 6 years ago when I moved to Greece for a few years...I did my big cleanout and several Europe goodies went amiss also :-[
I do own a 12" autographed (by all the band) Aus "Lay Your Hands on Me" vinyl thats simply gathering dust. I got it signed when I met them on their AU New Jersey Tour and its been lying around ever since. Perhaps we can arrange a swap or something if youre interested.

Well, Im more interested in a trade as opposed to putting a dollar value on the vinyl as I hate all that.
What I'd REALLY love to find (and as I think you are in the US), is a 7" PICTURE SLEEVED vinyl single of "The Final Countdown" released by Europe.
This item is missing from my collection, and with 26 million copies sold worldwide, (and with TFC single reaching about #9 in the states), I'd think it would be quite simple to obtain!(?) But Ive never succeeded, so maybe you'd have better luck!
What say you Jonman?
BTW - I LOVED the photo...too cool! Like Motley Crue (big hair) meets Miami Vice (shoulderpadded jacket)!

I agree that trading is way better than just paying for something....with that said, I don't have a copy of that single...I just bought the LP when it was released b/c I knew I'd love the whole thing...hard-rock hair band from Sweden...what's not to love? But I AM looking for one so please don't promise the Jovi single to anyone else just yet okay?
BTW I'm in Canada not the US...it's practically the same thing except our dollar is worth WAY LESS than theirs LOL ;)

Yep, no complaints whenever I cross the border to go on those day-long music-buying trips to Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal... :)

Dont worry, the vinyl is not going anywhere fast...its been in my collection since October 26th, 1989, so its used to hanging around! ;) I wont be promising it to anyone else! I think you are the right guy for it...but I'd SOOOO love to get my hands on that US pic sleeve!

Maybe I should've spoken up a little sooner on this, but I'm afraid I have bad news for you both: the 7" single for Europe's big hit from the Winter of '87, "The Final Countdown", was not issued w/ a picture sleeve here in the U.S.! :( (Don't know about Canada, though.) So that's why you can't find it, lol. It appears that every other vinyl 45 of theirs did come w/ a ps here in the States, though - "TFC" was the only exception. And unfortunately, "TFC" was released as a single only about six months before the massive launch of cassette singles by most of the major record cos. here - because if it had come out on cassette single, that version would've included a ps, even if the vinyl 45 didn't. :( Their follow-up hit, "Rock the Night", was most likely the first of theirs to come out on cassette single...
Incidentally, I do have a copy of the rare U.S. promo CD single for my favorite Europe song, "Superstitious" (Summer of '88). Great tune... :)
