We did look into reporting them but it was just a hassle. I wish there was a place that we can just forward the email to. It would be so much easier. Oh yeah, who faxes these days?

As many of you know, I've had a job since mid-April. But I need to restate that it is a temporary job...and a week or two ago my boss informed me that as a temporary employee, I could work up to three months. Well, tomorrow is my last day. A week ago I talked with the director of Human Resources, and asked her if there'd be any other positions I could work for in the company, and she said nothing was available at the moment...but they will definitely keep in touch with me and notify me of any job positions similar to the one I currently have. Whether it be later this year, or several months down the road...or whenever. In the meanwhile, I will have to go back to the old Job Searching and see what I can find.
So I will be bummed about my temporary job coming to an end... and my coworkers will all miss me. I really enjoyed working with everyone in my department (they were all really nice people), and likewise, they enjoyed having me around. It's been lots of fun.

At least you got the job, something to put on your CV. I'd phone them up every month in case something is available. Glad you enjoyed the experience there.

Curriculum Vitae, as I have heard it called. That's the Latin term for it, I think.

Sorry to hear this, but remember you have filled in what would be a gap in your CV, had experience of a job and now built up a network for a possible future position.

How is she feeling?
Cat
She is alright, she slept all the way home (45 minutes). I just wish they wouldn't try and "hide" things from her. She has had soo much work done; she know's there is a shot involved (it is not "special water" and it is not their finger pinching her). Just show her the damn needle, and she will be fine; she is soo freeekin curious about what that needle actually looks like (she tries to feel it with her tongue, and asks all about it) and they keep it hidden. I told her she was getting a tooth pulled out, they can break the rest to her. But all in all, they are VERY GOOD dentist and she handled it beautifully (only tears with one of the novacaine shots). They also gave her "laughing gas" so she was more comfortable. Her mouth and cheek is swollen, and she can't feel anything and she has a cotton tube in her mouth, so she doesn't chew her lip or tongue.
Did they novocaine her?
Yes they gave her the topical numbing stuff, and then the novacaine, and also some nitrous oxide (laughing gas). She only cried at one of the novacaine shots, and she had to end up having another because she didn't thoroughly numb in one area.
No, Howard. They gave her a pint of whiskey or they hit her on the head with a big mallet. ::)
Cat
I wish I had the whiskey ;) and the mallet (to hit Howard on the head) - Loves to you Howard, I am only joking. My sense of humor is probably off because of the stress of the past 2 hours :P

...which reminds me... after I had begun my job back in April, I rescheduled my dental appointment for today, but earlier this week I had to call and postpone it again because my job took me through today, so now I am scheduled to have my dental appointment on August 6th! I'm hoping to have one sooner than that, now that my job is finished.

guess my mom didn't want to worry me so she gave me misinformation >:(
he didn't have 50% of his surgery done yesterday... instead they did exploratory surgery to see if they could see what exactly is wrong...
anyway- apparently after his last quadruple bypass. I swear my dad's had about 10 open heart surgeries since he was 50 - he'll be 71 next month (I hope) - so after the quadbp... they took four veins from his legs. Three are functioning but one is growing branches into his shoulders instead of pumping blood to his heart. They are sending him home with hopes they can operate Aug 5th or 6th..... I guess that's good right- that he's strong enough to go home? His kidneys are still in bad shape tho.

packed suitcase today. Then we went to Cabelas. Elizabeth had a much-loved hoodie that she wore into holes so we bought her a new one. James wanted something camoflage and they had a lovely fleece with just a trim of camo. And I spotted a nice t-shirt.
For lunch we went to a Japanese place for hibachi (might also be called tempenyaki?). Anyway you sit at the hotplate and the chef cooks the food in front of you. He puts on a bit of a show, juggling utensils, setting fire to the hotplate and some of the veggies, etc.

It's just when I see quotes around a particular word or phrase....when it isn't an actual quotation... I translate it to mean air quotes. And you know air quotes are used to emphasis something that isn't.... I am "wealthy" meaning I spend money like I am but in reality I am one paycheck away from being homeless... :D

Okay then, I get your point. ;) And indeed, it was a going away party for me in the office yesterday.
Anyhoo, I will also pray for your father's recovery.

Safe trip Karen and family
Sounds like they are really punishing you for taking time off to be with your dad.
Hang in there, eventually they will allow you to sleep

Even tho I only saw her once (and her lovely family too), so her posting from England or Conn makes little difference, (except for the time that she's online) I will still miss her being in close proximity. I know now the chance of a second meeting is less likely but hopefully it can happen!

Well today was exciting, got the girls bulletin boards done. I went to the dentist, and no cavities. Dad came home and he started working with the girls making their birdhouses. Then eldest girl saw dog eating rat poison (this was out in the shop, that there was no reason for dog to be out there). SO I made her puke, by dumping peroxide and salt down her throat, called the vet for emergency clinic. Shot of vitamin K now given, and back at home and hopefully all is well!

I am pretty confident she is ok, my 3 1/2 years of experience working at the vet clinic makes me more confident! I caught it fast, as she was doing it, stopped it. Made her expel it, and then got her treated with Vit. K right away! I will monitor closely for any signs of hemorrhage. But she has pills for 6 more days of Vitamin K - so her blood should not thin out. What is bad is when owners don't know it, find evidence, or the dog just get lethargic later on ( they are internally bleeding). It is an easy treat if it is caught RIGHT AWAY! Still didn't want the vet bill though :P

Finally starting to cool down some at night. Yay!
I got a surprise delivery of some muchly needed medical supplies today. When I tried to order them on Thursday, they said I'd have to get my dr. to send them information (to satisfy my insurance requirement). I was on my last bit of supplies and was worried that everything would not come together in time... I called my visiting nurse and she was able to talk to the company and get everything copacetic. I really like my visiting nurse, she makes things happen! lol
Tonight the new season of Degrassi:Next generation started with a freakin' two hour movie. It was good but it's hard for me to sit that long anymore unless I'm sleeping. PLUS new episodes every night this week... watching this show is almost like having a job! lol
Got paperwork to complete, prescriptions to fill... just kinda been putting it all off until I got more energy. Still waiting for that energy to come along... :-\\ but I really can't wait any longer to do paperwork...
Gonna attempt to go to my family reunion this Saturday. It's a hour and a half drive from here. Try to stay out of the sun as much as I can...
It's really gonna be weird not seeing my grandma there... :\'(

Yay meds!!! I hope you make it to the reunion. I know it'll be weird but it'll be good to get out. Just be siure to take it easy. ;)
Now for the important part ;)
Yay degrassi! Not only is it a two hour movie plus four eps. There's a full marathon of the new EPA on Saturday. That's like four hours of degrassi!!!
I didn't see any advertisement for it. I Kay knew ur was coming so I did a search.
I checked the normal time slot (fri ev) and that was part two of an eo I'd never seen before so I had to search. I was excited to find a full week of degrassi but annoyed because if I hadn't been observant I wouldve missed it. Or I wouldve figured it out but had to watch the marathon on sat.
I'm rambling cuz I'm tired. But yay degrassi!!!!
Now I'm gonna put on some drake and have Jimmy Brooks flashback!!!

The weather has been so muggy it has been all I can do to stay awake, really zaps you. Still no work on the horizon, but since I was smart enough not to get myself into a credit hole we are doing ok, it has been almost two years without any significant work, than god for unemployment extensions.

Today... so far uneventful, awoke to storms. But they cleared off and the girls were able to get their swimming lessons in. Dog still seems fine, she took a Vitamin K pill in velveeta this morning. Otis btw is healing up well, after his grooming incident. THe gaping throat wound is about completely healed over (looks like a deep scratch now) and we keep putting fly spray on it to avoid any problems. I am supposed to get 3 gunny sacks full of sweet corn today - to start freezing it for winter. Everyone loves my sweet corn. Girls will have a great time shucking it ;) we normally do it right out in the pasture, and the cows all come up and surround us to eat the fresh husks, and if you aren't careful steal an ear or two. AND I do not have to worry about any mess in the yard, trash or anything. I will then cut it off the cob, and throw the cobs out there as well - I have a few cows who this is there favorite part!!! Cream and butter and sugar is bought and I have several 100 quart bags - this is the first of about 3 times to do this, this summer. YAY- hope the flies aren't biting :P Girls bird houses are together and now they are decorating them. It looks as though they are doing glass mossaic on them. Pretty interesting. 8)

Today when we went to pick up our produce from the local farm we have a share in, they had someone selling sweet corn there. The farm, itself doesn't grow corn so it must have been from another nearby farm. You can guess what we are having for dinner tonight. ;)

I have 2 gunny sacks full right now. There were some problems in the field, so he kept it in the cooler for me, till he could get it to me. Late enough, I did not want to try to shuck, cut it, make it, bag it and then stick it in the freezer tonight... :P So I have the bags soaked with water and all the ears, to keep the kernals from drying out - YUMMY

Oh Holy Buckets, I experienced the scare of my life this morning. I awoke at the crack of dawn to fire alarms... I yelled the fire alarms are going off, the fire alarms are going off - no movement beside me (realize my husband has already left for work - and only my youngest daughter is there). I don't smell smoke, or see anything; come to my senses and realize it is the upstairs fire alarms. We have 4 hardwired ones upstairs, and if 1 goes off they all do - new construction, and since my daughters will be up there, we thought it a good idea. I look at the bottom of the stairs still seeing/smelling nothing. Alarms stop... Doors are shut at the top of the stairs, and since smoke rises - perhaps check it out. Walked through nothing. My eldest daughter was scared, if she wouldn't have heard it I would have said I was dreaming. Youngest daughter, still sound asleep in my bed when I go back. Not sure what happens, perhaps safety check - lol. I should, A Make sure girls get up and get outside. B take cell phone with to check it out... :P

That happened to us a while back (but we were already awake when they all went off). Come to find out, one of the alarms was faulty and we had to replace it. At least we knew they all worked-in terms of being connected. Unfortunately, we don't have any up here which we need to get. :-\\

Judging by the fireworks shot off by random neighbors all month long, I would say that people find money for things that could mean blowing your hand off (if the fuse is short), even when they are having trouble paying other bills. ??? :D

Sounds awesome - I love auctions 8) Haven't been to one in probably 7 years though :P
I love auctions, too. This one didn't go as I had hope but we came home with a HUGE lot of baseball (football, basketball, hockey, etc) cards. Now, we have to figure out what we have and hopefully there is a treasure or two in the mix.

Someone HELP.... I need to calm down. So much to do, and everything is setting me off. Princess contest is Monday (along with swim lessons at 10-11, clover kids fair project interviews 1-2, fair princess interviews at 3, and contest at 6:30). I have todo 2 girls hair, and I am going to freakin lose it :(. Tomorrow is the parade and again 2 hairs todo (practice), I have to finish making car signs (upto 1, cutting letters for them), had them laying out and girl spilled it all looking for her freekin DS game, when she was supposed to be getting ready for swim lessons, and getting clothes to go to my hair appointment ( immediately following) and tire appoint. Immediately after that (now cancelled). I went ballistic, I am just nasty right now. Maybe if I vent, it will help. Any advice, yelling at, reprimands I will
My eldest 8 1/2 is just sooooo not listening, I tell her something and nothing gets done till I yell ( lol then I get, why do you get sooo mad???). The girls are not sharing, they want the same Barbie, but if they need to share tgey want completely different movies amd if one wants to eat at Carlos o kelly's , the other wants to eat at Gators, if one wants coke, the other wants mt dew.. Yesterday we flipped sooo many coins, I think I wore the heads and tails off of them... And I do it that way, because life is a game of chance and it is not FAIR (sometimes you win sometimes you lose). Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Haven't been paying too much attention to the basketball cards because I don't follow basketball. Don't know anything about it, really. I have been paying more attention to the baseball cards-which there are a lot more of those then the other sports. The ones that I have gone through so far are about 1980s-2000s. (I'm sure the basketball is probably the same era.) I think I found a David Ortiz rookie card. It is going to take us a LONG time to go through all of them. We have a friend who sells baseball cards that will be coming over on Monday and give us some advice on it.

Aw Holy Hell... I won't ask the question, but really WHY... Sudden pop up storm just went through, 60+ mph winds and heavy rain for 15 minutes. Now I have water damage (which was supposed to be fixed with the remodel, and last insurance claim). Water pouring in our bedroom closet ceiling, and my bathroom wall (that the 2 areas share), both down stairs. Good news, it did not leak through the window like a sieve this time (dry wall, window, and trim completely dry this time); go back behind in the side crawl space/attic pieces and water is coming through our stucco. This is meaning a couple things, a stucco is an expensive fix, and the wall, insullation, remodel we just did to one upstairs bedrooms, is going to have to be redone :\'( :\'( :\'( :\'(

So sorry about your stress and water damage Sami. I'd be crying by now.
As for me: In a few hours I have to go down to the DMV (when it opens, duh!) and renew my license plates then off to a family reunion. Hopefully it won't be too hot or rainy. Lots of good food and nice to see the family that I usually only see at funerals. ::) ;D
If I get photos I'll post a few.

FYI: I won't know if I've won anything until early January 2011. Before that, there are several elimination rounds. I hope at least one of my poems will make the final 100, but realistically...there's only a small chance. Last year's edition (also the first edition) saw already nearly 16,000 entries. :o

Good luck. Hopefully, you can win something. I entered into a poetry contest once but then I found out that it wasn't really a contest-they just were gathering a whole bunch of poems, putting them into a book and then wanted you buy the book because your poem was in it. ::) What a rip off. So somewhere out there is a book which has one of my poems in it. (No, I didn't buy the book.)

Hey Henk Good Luck. :)
Thanks! :) The final 100 poems will be published in a book, so that's why I'm hoping to be among them. Top 3 poems will win (some) money.
So far, I've entered four poems, but I'm thinking of entering some more.

I would go out and look for the book now.... perhaps there's one in used bookshop somewhere...that way you still get a book with your poem in it but the scammers don't get the money..... unless they didn't publish until they got paid...then they only put in the poems that were paid for.... :-\\
