Where we lived in the US they seemed paranoid about thunderstorms.  the mere slightest hint of a storm made them shut the outdoor pools until at least 20 minutes after the last rumble.
probably wise - swimming pools are quite often hit by lightening...  Much more than anyone knows, because of the few injuries since they shut down

It is soo funny some of the geometry terms I have to look up, in order to help students (other than finding area and angles and such, I have not used much geometry in my last 20 years)... and I got A's in the subject... I just do not use the terminology anymore

If I'm watching a recording I have to suffer thru the commercials because I cannot fast forward from the bed room... 

but... 100% of my shows record in the Bedroom... my only DVR now but with DIRECTV!!!!  :P  I can watch the recordings in my living room.

In the UK you are supposed to be 18 but I started going to pubs around the age of 15.  By the age of 16 I went every Friday and Saturday.

For a while, when we first got married, we had two tv's.  A small one in the kitchen which we watched when preparing/eating dinner.  The larger one in the lounge was for if there was a good film on.  We'd make an effort to get the room warm first before settling down.  Regular shows were just watched in the kitchen after dinner because that room was already warm.

Well, thanks a lot Q. This is called a logic problem. My grandmother introduced me to those when I was about 14. I LOVE them and can usually solve them. Unfortunately, I need a chart to help me with it so I have spent the last I don't know how long creating a chart to help me solve it. (Which I still haven't finished with the chart). BUT I WILL solve it! It may take me a while but I WILL!!!! I think it will probably take me longer to create the chart than it will to actually solve it. lol

They sell a brush - sorta plastic bristle... I use a soft toothbrush or a nail brush ::)

Hmmm - dates of fairs???  If they are in the summer I could do some Agri-tourism.  I have actually always wanted travel around and visit different fairs 8)

At a different scout meeting we made a bird feeder out of a 1 litre pop (soda) bottle and two small wooden spoons.  But we preferred the look of the wooden one so I kep the sppons and threw the rest away!

The one we went to when we lived in CT is actually in Massachusetts.  It's called the Big E (big eastern I guess).

The best method is to really make sure you've got a good grasp on them at the top of the corn.  I take off as many outer leaves as I can, leaving only the thinnest inner layer.

Still rather sore after having four teeth out yesterday. Eight down, 24 to go...

A lot of stores are doing their Black Friday sales ahead of time. This weekend Walmart, Best Buy and Kohl's are doing a Pre-Black Friday sale. Apparently it is to cut down on the over-crowding. At any rate, I am patiently waiting for the flyers to come out! ;)

The first four were taken out so that my brace could fit properly without my mouth expanding too much.

This latest four were wisdom teeth which were growing badly.

The best method is to really make sure you've got a good grasp on them at the top of the corn.  I take off as many outer leaves as I can, leaving only the thinnest inner layer.

Yes I can usually shuck corn in a matter of 2 pulls... On half and then the other half, if you do it one by one, you are left with a ton of silk at the end... and you have to take them off and they stick to you and the corn and makes a big mess... If you grab them with the husks, snip snap done
