Nothing I really; I just woke up naturally. In addition, a few days ago I was naturally awake at 6:40 in the morning and didn't feel like going back to sleep.

The long instrumental break from Echo & the Bunnymen's cover of "People Are Strange." That's the song that was playing on my clock radio at the stroke of 5:00 this morning, and I think that at the exact moment that the radio clicked on, was the point where the instrumental break began. And it's been stuck in my head for a good part of the day today.

Carlos & I were planning on sleeping a little later than our normal wake up time (9:00-yeah, we sleep that late every day. It is really rough to be retired. :D ;D ;D ;D). But, our furry alarm clock had other ideas. Exactly at 9:00 she comes on the bed and meows right in our faces. I bopped her in the nose. :o But we got up anyway so her job was done.

I've been using my cell for an alarm for over a year but lately I have started to ignore it so yesterday I went back to using my real alarm clock (one I've had since I graduated 8th grade!) so I would say my alarm clock woke me up today as well but the dog is afraid of the real alarm so really it was her jumping at the sound of it that woke me up. ;D

Cell alarms have always been too quiet for me, even on the highest volume! My regular clock-clock is pretty old too -- I've had it since I was a teenager and I'm 38.

There's something about the particular tune I chose for my alarm ring- its a standard ring on my iPhone. Even when I hear someone else's phone ring with that tune my body reacts to it like- HEY IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP!!! (and I'm all... I'm already awake stupid :P )
I have always had issues waking up- before the clock I have now- i've had it for nearly 30 yrs, it's super loud and, until I got my iPhone, it was the only alarm that would ever get me out of bed.

Today, the sun in my eyes woke me up. We are staying in my SIL's room and she has a small window high on the wall opposite the bed that the morning sun comes through. At night it is cool to see the moon-but in the morning... :P

Totally amazing that I didn't wake up at all in the middle of the night. The first time I slept throughout the night in a LONG time. I sort of heard all the roosters, cars, & neighbors but it really didn't wake me up. What finally woke me up was Carlos getting out of bed about quarter to 9 this morning.
