The two Big Boards you refer to are two separate table of the 2154 message boards on the web.

This thread "Big Boards #63 (by Post Ratio) .... We're surging! )" has kindly been explained by Al.

The "Slipping" thread deals with the number of posts sent. So on this huge table inthe00s is currently #851 out of the whole 2154 message boards.

Each day at 6am (GMT) the Big Boards table are brought up-to-date. So when I wake it is the first thing to take notice of.

Another explanation is the in the UK, the national is obsessed with figures and statistics (don't ask about the game of cricket). The notion on how well inthe00s has fared on a daily basis should be noted.

At the moment, all I can suggest is that a new forum entered the boards yesterday with a higher postcount than us, or that another board orignally positioned below us out of the range of the viewing positions, had a better day than us and ended up at a higher position out of the range of the viewing positions.
